How do you go about making a story for a visual novel? I kinda have a plot in mind but its hard to convert it into a vn style with multiple routes
I kinda prefer writing my VNs with a solid linear story. If you're gonna have multiple routes they should be fairly satisfying on their own while also contributing to the overarching plot. If the story splits into routes that are kinda meh and inconsequential, I think that time is better spent making the main plotline better tbh.

I know this might sound kinda dumb are we past the "friends with benefits" stage with Owen at the end of his route (as of now)? I just can't exactly tell whether he sees us as more than friends because of how casual he is about everything. This also might be my trust issues at play here lol
Owen definitely cares about you more deeply, but he's still using sex and flirting to skirt around things he doesn't want to talk about. My boy's got avoidant tendencies, which is why he ran away from home and also ditched you when y'all first ran into Samuel. This is kinda why Phillip is good for his health in a weird way. He pushes right past all the flirting and goes straight to "what the fuck is wrong with you???"

How about sneaking some canon sloppy make out in Temptation Ballad between Cole and Marrow, like some teasing smooches which then turn into a hot make out between those two until someone interrupts them(most likely Hamish)
