the story of how my avatar became a mushroom is directly tied to how i became shroomie, and by extension what feels like my life story, so take a seat. i've been on the internet for close to the majority of my life, i consider the year i first found it to be the year i first became properly sentient. but, one day, i decided to try discord again (this was before i turned 13 please dont judge me,) i had before but something happened, i’m okay don't worry. i needed to choose a name, i think the first one i used was scribblescrabble, however i found a name i preferred, Whale Hunter, this one was based off of the gimmick/joke of deciding that whales were too much to care for and keep alive as a species, so we should kill them off, this name didn’t last for long. here is where we reach the first time i call myself something close to shroomie, so sometime while i was whale hunter i joined the rtgame discord server, and in the meme channel theres this guy (she’s a lady now and i will refer to her as such from now on) preaching the color purple, not the book but the actual shade, and i and some other random guy join in the conversation, and we become friends. later, i join her server because i want more centralized worship and i meet two other people, both of them very important to me, as well as the first two, but only one important to this story, i’ll call them pink. so sometime into purple discord i decide i want a new name, inspired by a timotainment video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8Xhc2qCLUI) i choose Mushroom Man. Pink, who has been purple-ifying emojis for the server, was willing to make one for me, with added eyes too! shrome avatar complete (kinda, i made one based off that one very recently)! now for the name shroomie, we in purple discord (i had moved to the server that it had originated so purple discord only kinda) enjoyed giving nicknames to each other, and so from mushroom man sprouted shroomie, luckily my gender trans’d soon afterwards so i had a name to easily choose online. thats it. shrome is born
