why did megumi get a panic attack after flirting with yuuji? was it too much for him the fact that he talked with his crush or did it have smth to do with the alcohol in his system paired with a big crowd or something else that was implied that i just didn't understand or something else entirely? i remember re-reading for the ninth time and being curious about what the reason was <3
Oh yeah you had a good intuition, I kinda projected on Megumi my own insecurities because when you have anxiety you can start panicking even when nothing bad is really happening. Just your head being loud and mean is enough to make you spiral sometimes. Because it happens to me, I wanted to put Memi in the same situation, to see if I can find people that also relate to those feelings. You know, sometimes you take artistic liberty to feel less alone.
But I digress!
Essentially yeah, Megumi made himself panic after the realization how drunk he is hit, and how he is so not fucking ready to face the fact that he just talked with Yuuji /while/ being so shitfaced. Then the mean thought started and it all went downhill from there
