There has been something going on my mind for a while
The place where Kouyou invited Yosano for a double date, you said it was going to be an important thing of the trama, yet it hasn't been mentioned, and the fic is about to end
I was thinking "there are still four chapters left, something can happen" but seeing the chapters you've been uploading, I'm starting to doubt a little, since they're normal size where only two things are happening
The main things of the plot from the start and so on that got us more and more hanged like Dazai's lore, Chuuya's lore, Kouyou's lore, hasn't been brought up again, just Dazai's one, and very slightly
You also said obac wasn't really sunshine fanfic, and even though is true, so far more stuff hasn't happened. I was just re reading the first chapters and went through the double date one and remembered what you said about the place, and I was like, "wait, but that place has been left forgotten", and with all this sigzai thing going on, much less
So I started to think so I'm gonna ask you, did you decide to leave the real shit, like the real real life changing drama, for the second part? And leaving the first part like some kind of introduction? For example, Dazai's dad (he fucking came to dazai's apartment, he will definitely do it again to keep tabs on him, and control him and all that stuff) and things like that
Kouyou's behaviour, she's a bitch but still an interesting bitch, especially as Chuuya's sister. They were raised up by different people and everything behind that it's interesting, and also how chuuya started to develop the feeling of pleasing Kouyou in how "an alpha must be". Wonder if it's because she was his older sister so it came naturally, or if there was something else behind
I don't think that all will be covered in the few chapters left, let alone with sigma taking spotlight now. Since he's not correlated at all with them. Since he started to appear more with his "o want to date dazai too", these things were going more to the background to the point it doesn't feel the same as in the start when we were getting to know chuuya and lately, Kouyou. Since it was always charged with a little perk of curiosity, their behaviour and all
Also dazai's view of the world and alphas, that's how he came to the city, so we wanted to see how it was gonna be for him with a vision like that in a place where such things are not like in his town
(Though he changed it a little quick XD)
So I wonder if it is because that all will be covered up in the second part? And this was like some introduction for the real, real thing?
I'm also very curious about how will that place come again and be important in the plot. Not only the obvious of being such a weird place where everything that dazai hates comes to life, but also that Kouyou is so full of that shit that she goes to such PRIVATE places (how does she knows abt them? Rich privilege? and drags chuuya with her 🤔

Yes, I guess you could say that OBAC is more of an introduction. The way I think of it is that we often meet people or encounter things by total chance and don’t even realize how they change the trajectory of our life until several months/years later. Like a new chapter that begins without any warning. OBAC is the beginning of that chapter and I believe it is also going to be a smaller work compared to the next part tho don’t take my word for it as I’m still outlining part 2.

As for Dazai changing quickly, I believe I mentioned on my CC about a year ago or so (which is now lost forever) that Dazai has undiagnosed ADHD which I don’t usually describe in much detail because it’s really not meant to be the focus of things, just something that he happens to have, and there’s this theory about object permanence where for example you might not really miss someone or even not think of them if they are not currently in your life. Dazai experiences this in the sense that his father is several travel hours away and the longer he lives alone, the less he really thinks about his parents and the people from his village. The effect that being away from all that, physically and mentally, has on him is that he is very subconsciously starting to give in to this new, more open and accepting environment. His hostility has cooled down which allowed Sigma, whom he already likes a lot as a person because he’s a ‘omega-feminine’ alpha, to break through his walls. Chuuya couldn’t really get that far because he still struggles with his own toxic alpha tendencies and because he reminds Dazai a lot of his childhood home (e.g. through his scent).
But even though he actually started dating an alpha for the first time doesn’t mean that Dazai is just feeling all peachy about it, I would even say that he’s finding a bunch of new problems he has with it. We will see.

As for Kouyou, I still have plans for her and we barely scratched the surface of who she is. Right now she’s not super fleshed out and almost like a caricature and it’s because it’s still Dazai telling the story.

It’s hard to answer these things without spoiling too much so I hope I have made a few things clearer for you, but yeah we still have a whole lot of stuff to get through and it will not all be covered in the remaining 4 chapters of part 1.
