In Bub and Rex bounty hunters, does Rex inherit his powers or does Asmodeus give him his powers like in the comic
i've been sitting on this ask for two months now, letting it rack my brain haha. as you probably know I'm always reluctant to cast things in stone or say things as "word of god" for my stories. I'm still trying to figure a lot out about this new world and setting and story. How the characters intermingle and what their histories with each other are like and such, and I always get insecure that I'll say something is canon now and then change in down the line haha.
but at any rate- right now I'm really gelling with the idea that Rex's soul is spoken for, but not of his own doing. Something along the lines of his mother making a deal with a devil, promising that devil her first born, and that firstborn being Rex...
I also like the idea of that devil being Asmodeus, and part of Bub and Rex's mutual goal is to face Asmo and free Rex's soul from his clutches :)

wondering: do you have a broad picture of what magic looks like in bub & rex’s world? is there any media/magic system you’re using as a point of reference, or which have influenced your thinking?
i am DEFINITELY inspired by 5e D&D at the moment. I’m pretty bad with worldbuilding and magic-rules, so I am heavily leaning on my very limited knowledge of what magic in that universe looks like, at least with regards to warlocks and their patrons. it’s definitely giving me somewhere to start atm

YESSS I’ve been really meaning to play with some genderbend/ciswaps lately but I just haven’t gotten around to it. I think that was one of the last things I sketched in my sketchbook but I didn’t like it.

Bub can get very defensive of someone messing with his “property.” He’s very possessive and doesn’t like to share. Meanwhile, Rex is quite the Cassanova and turns up the charm quite often. He uses it to his advantage to sweeten the pot or to mnaybe get extra information he otherwise wouldn’t have access to, much to Bub’s chagrin.

Hello Mouse! I am a longtime fan of your comics, your talent amazes me! I want more of these cool comics, I can sit and read them for hours, I had a question how long does it take to draw characters and comics?

as for your question, it's more like two separate questions. Drawing a character can take me anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how much rendering and detail I'm adding. My style is fast and loose, so speed is my goal.
as for comic making, that itself is a bit of a nebulous question, as well. How long does it take me to draw a comic? A couple days, from sketch, to lining, to coloring, to type setting. how long does it take me to write a comic? a year or more lol. The whole process is multifaceted, and I would call myself relatively "fast" at making comics, but I've truly burnt myself out over and over again over the years, so I'm putting comics down for a little bit while I focus on myself for a while. I think speed is the wrong thing to focus on when making comics. I think consistency would be a better goal.
