what's your favorite arc in orv?
Kit in uni would've told you it's kaizenix, because it's literally my fav genre. I'm an unapologetic romfan manhwa liker despite its obvious flaws, but also because of how much narrative focus is put on hsy's dedication and a huge foreshadowing for the split selves she will eventually come to realize. Also just the idea of the isekai'd person and the character both existing in one body is fun. Nothing too deep.
Another version of kit would say I really liked it when KDJ basically got expelled from the story and had to salvage parts of himself from all the rejected story parts, placing a dragon's heart in his chest to replace the one he's lost. Here kdj has died as a human being and he's become the story and thus needed parts of other stories to make him whole again. And there's just something about him literally just scavenging whatever story he can find to complete himself that speaks to me.
But I guess now I'd have to say it'd be the... 1863 hsy arc, not just because I'm a lesbian but because I think it's the most "selfish" I've seen Hsy be and how most similar she's become to Anna croft. I love her and her atrocities and I think it's wonderful to know this was her way of letting her and her characters "reach" their desired "end" especially considering the epilogue... And what her ■ was revealed to be. Sorry that got long!
What’s your favourite type of piece to write - or type of character to write about?
Hm this is difficult to answer/pinpoint, but I guess I like to write mood pieces/character driven stories bc I'm not the best at plotting things. I'm more interested in exploring someone's feelings and internal struggles and how that manifests in how they behave/drive the story. I'd like to get better at plot driven stories too though, it's just difficult to pick up... For characters, would it be self centered if I said characters who are like me? Mostly because it's easier to make sense of their motivations as I can use my own experiences to parallel theirs. However I also like to try to challenge myself and try to write/investigate characters who cannot be more far away than me. I am personally of the opinion that every person shares more similarities than dissimilarities. I also find it interesting, for example, to see how they would react to certain situations and how they rationalize things in contrast w how i do it. So in short, the answer to both would be pieces or characters that allow me to understand myself or others better.
