well, that post was about clown crown so i'm guessing you've read it? it and pretty mission are the most telling stories in that aspect, they both pretty much have tori looking straight into the camera and saying "i wish i was a girl".

the tori genderisms have been going on since forever and ever, and while he is usually pretty comfortable with his gender non-conformity, those two stories bring to light that dysphoric side of him. and they're both tied to a very important character: his little sister

his confession in pretty mission is that he is jealous of his sister because he can't marry eichi, but she does. most people focus only on the men-liker side (also correct) but the way he says it, "my sister gets what i want just because she is a girl", implies it is not just a one-off occurrence but something that's happened several times before. in that particular quote, i believe the take away is "i am jealous of my sister because she is a girl"

and clown crown proves that it was indeed not a one-off occurrence. he was a child then, so i'm pretty sure he's doing better now but ough was it something to read. i don't want to just dump on you a whole analysis picking the "my sister wants to be a princess" scene sentence by sentence, so ill do my best to keep brief this already too long ask 😭 but it's just. the jealousy is brought up again, as he talks about how his sister wants to be a princess, so he is then a prince. his sister called dibs already on being a princess, so he doesn't get to be one. and she is a girl so it makes more sense for her to be the princess, right? it's again a very clear meaning of "i am jealous of her because she is a girl" (and thus has things i can't have). there is sooo much to say abt this story even just in gender terms, and i feel it conveys that longing very well (and more kinds of longing too it's so good)

to summarize, i again think that tori is pretty comfortable with himself right now. it is only when his sister is brought up that he hesitates, because since "she is just like him, but a girl" he feels all the more aware of the things he lacks.

oh my god i missed this question sorry 😭😭😭 and omg i hadn't read his fs1 story (because i don't have the card, on account of my gacha luck, it just didn't occur to me) but you're right! tori and tsukasa are super similar (and that is also why they butt heads) so it tracks that tsukasa considered it, given he also super admires eichi. it's one of those things that, were it not because tori is already doing them, tsukasa might have done too. i really don't think he would have joined fine With tori, but maybe in a slightly different turn of events where tori ended up somewhere else... im a firm believer of them needing their own separate developments before anything can happen but it is fun to think about. hope you have a nice day too!!!
