just to add re: solo Xmas, if he was being legit and not just saying it bc he thinks fans would want to hear it it just adds… so many layers to the pining. the fact he even brought it up suggests he views Christmas as smth romantic, and he wishes he could call somebody his but just… never acts on anything or never lets anything get far enough or last long enough. Idk anyway..
i think on top of this hanbin can generally be quite romantic AND christmas is his absolute favorite holiday and time of year so it makes sense he’s feeling particularly yearnful, whether he has actually spent all his christmases solo or not

Hi! I stumble across your profile from time to time and just saw your messages regarding an evnne fic fest of some sort. It could be a viable option perhaps to opt for something bingo-like? It is very low stakes in a way, very easy to moderate, and gives people a lot of freedom and inspiration while keeping it accessible. I figured I would recommend it to you. Have a lovely day!!
oh yeah a bingo fest could be fun and a little more low pressure! i think any kind of strong theme helps make it easier too. a friend ran a one direction themed jukebox fest a couple years ago now for seventeen where everyone got to pick a song to base their fic around. prompt based fests are also fun but i just don't know if we have enough people around to submit prompts in the first place...
anyway a bingo fest would be a good low stakes idea so thank you for dropping in!!

coming back with another taerae analysis but what I find really interesting is how taerae approaches emotions post debut, during boys planet he cried a few times, he literally had his mom saved as "mom ❤️💞" and his mom literally said he's soft hearted and alluded to him crying often and easily
now post debut he's highlighting himself being a T so much that at this point it feels like he refuses to show some emotions at all? 😞 there's been a few times where for example he cried and then was like "pretend you didn't see this I'm not like this at all usually 😂" and then also talking about saving every number as like "[group/definition of group_name" like hao_zb1 for example 😭
it's like he approaches certain situations with a total taboo and I think it's something that only really came apparent after debut, back then he also kinda distanced himself from the members I feel like only recently he's gotten closer to most of them
again, there's something special about how how he sees matthew, and he knows that like he often talks about how matthew can play with emotions the best, how he appreciates how sincere matthew is that and that he almost teared up with matthew said something heartfelt to him which also connects to him often highlighting that he treasures sincerity the most and that he wishes he could know when someone is insincere and when someone isn't
I feel like this could all connect to something that happened to him sometime perhaps, or perhaps it's just yet another complex layer to himself

i have found it soooo interesting post-debut how he really does play up the T thing and not just him but others also view him and talk about him that way but then you do have his mom saying he's mushy and soft and also HANBIN!!! saying it!!! taerae who is full of affection and cries a lot.
i think taerae can be very black and white in the way he thinks about certain things or the way he thinks they should be even if that's not how it is in actuality and i think sometimes he can get caught up in how he's /decided/ he's supposed to be feeling or acting in a certain circumstance, the rules of it. although i don't personally think of the name saving as a lack of affection because like hanbin saves everyone the same way (he even has munjung in with a typo he never fixed lol) but i think they just choose to show their mushiness and affection through other avenues.
i can't really speak on his relationships with the other members that deeply because i'm don't keep up with zb1 like that but i think rather than purposefully distancing himself from the group i read it more as him trying to figure out and decide his place within it. i also do think there are members he was always going to get close with faster vs need more time with (which is just natural in a group setting). like obviously he's very close with matthew, but to me being close with yujin was also inevitable for example because yujin seems like a good kid and taerae looooooves a baby and i think yujin appreciates that taerae babies him and takes care of him but /also/ takes him seriously and doesn't like dismiss him because of how young he is.
anyway that being said i do think his relationship with matthew is special and i'm soooo soo grateful for it i literally used to say all the time in the beginning back when they still said they were awkward with each other (so funny to think about now) that that was the relationship i wanted to see most and was looking forward to most and look where we are! taerae is someone who really values honesty and sincerity and on top of not liking being lied to, he also really doesn't like when he can't /tell/ he's being lied to. i think he trusts matthew a lot and really appreciates how unfiltered matthew can be and how matthew says what he's thinking and feeling. there's none of that guess work or worrying that matthew isn't being real with him
yeah i don't know if this stems from an experience he had or if it's just how he is, but it's really interesting!

no there hasn’t been 🥲 there’s been some evnne fic as part of other fests but we’ve never had our own. i know a lot of people have wanted to either run one or participate in one but it hasn’t actually happened yet. i don’t have time to organize and can’t promise i’d be able to write, but if someone put one together i would happily promote it here!
we did have @evnnefic which has a lot of fic organized but the tag has really slowed down anyway. it would be fun if we could get a fest going to revive some energy.

okay to be fair it is supposed to be a debate/discussion so like he is discussing but also like why are they being crazy. i feel like this is the craziest jeongbin thing to happen in a long time and part of it being crazy is how seriously they both play it.
