I think rei keeps calling kaoru increasingly verbose/deranged/embarassing nicknames bc he thinks flustering him is funny but also bc he's whipped duh.. my beautiful goosefeather... my sly fox... kaoru calls him honey or something like once in retaliation and he melts throws up dies etc. reikao is all about trying to mutually fluster each other actually and that's beautiful. they are at war eternally
