i’d appreciate if we could do this privately bc i don’t think this is something that needs to be publicized. but to summarize, i initially wanted to reach out to clarify that i did not throw out your freebie — i didn’t post it bc i felt very awkward that day after certain events, including people telling me things you / your friend group had said about me. i was told there were comments made about my personality, outfit, body, etc. that made me quite uncomfortable, and i really did not understand where they came from as i didn’t think we had any issue. i understand my awkwardness may have come off as rude, so i apologize if that’s the case, but i hope you can understand why i felt that way, and since it seems you still feel a certain way about me i would rather try to clarify any misconceptions you have about me than keep this going
i have no idea what people told you what i or my friend group said — and which friends? i think my conscience is clear enough to say that i haven’t said anything of the sort, tbh i didn’t even connect you to your account until recently. i’ve also read things you have said about me, but i really couldn’t be bothered to bring it up at the time because i could (and did) put my energy elsewhere and tbh it doesn’t matter to me.
and in that vein i don’t think it’s productive to continue this conversation any longer. you have not been civil to me, by your own admission of excluding my fan support from your picture and having “ill feelings” towards me. plus, you say “multiple people” sent you my original tweet thinking it was you — why would they think that unless you told them you deliberately excluded my fan support from your photo? i certainly didn’t tell anyone. why would i want to engage with you after these admissions? you are also justifying your actions, which is fine, but from my perspective it doesn’t seem you want to clear the air at all since it doesn’t seem like you’re apologetic for being shady in the first place on what is essentially hearsay. likewise, i hope you understand why i feel this way.
as for the “misconceptions” — i don’t think they are. regardless, my opinions are my own and not everyone holds the same view, and i’ve been trying to show grace and kindness like our fave by holding my tongue. and in the grander scheme of things, why should what i think matter? we are just two random fans at the end of the day.

hi so sorry to message you here but i couldn’t dm and i feel i need to clear the air one-on-one. about the freebie situation — i can explain why i didn’t post it but i can assure you i didn’t throw it away (i actually still use it!) i think there’s a lot of misunderstandings here and if you’d like to talk about it my dms are open. i really have no ill feelings anymore, but i can explain what it was that had upset me back then and i’m happy to hear out / discuss any issues you have with me as well. at the end of the day we are both yangqis who just want to support yy so i’d rather us resolve this and move on so we can better enjoy our time here and even support each other! i know i can be blunt and come off as rude sometimes but i promise you i am not a mean person and i really don’t want things to be this way. if you don’t have any interest in this, feel free to ignore and i promise i won’t bother you! but i really hope we can at least respect each other going forward so there isn’t this weird tension anymore

Back in the car, Ten can’t stop thinking about the proposal. The gasp of the girl when the guy pulled out the ring box, audible even with the wind. The joy on the couple’s faces. The image of them locked in an embrace, high amongst the clouds, the snow-capped mountains rising up behind them, strong and sure.
“You ever think about it?” he asks abruptly.
Kun doesn’t take his eyes off the road. “About what?”
“Getting married.”

“Well.” Ten lifts his chin, haughty, defiant. “I’m here now, aren’t I?”
He’s here now in a rural area of China bordering Tibet with no work, no cats, no distractions. He’s here now, trying to figure out why it still feels like Kun is lying to him. He’s here now with Kun. For Kun.
I missed you, Kun had said, even when they were an arm’s length apart. That part, Ten thinks, is true. And suddenly, and even though he’d been thinking about its impossibility, about its ridiculousness, all Ten can think is I missed you, too.
Maybe Kun senses it. Maybe he doesn’t. Either way, Kun looks at him for as long as he dares to keep his eyes off the road, and when he turns away, Ten sees a flash of what looks like resignation cross his face.
“Yeah,” Kun says. “Yeah, you are.”

Kun steps forward, zipping the jacket all the way up, and Ten catches the scent of Kun’s perfume lingering on the collar.
He inhales, savouring the rich, woody fragrance. “What about you, though?”
“I packed a spare, just in case. Let me grab it, then we can go.”
Ten follows Kun round to the back of the car. “Mr. Prepared-for-Everything, aren’t you?”
“And what does that make you?” Kun shoots back archly. “Mr. Unprepared-for-Everything?”
He leans forward, popping open his suitcase. As he does, the back of his sweater rides up, revealing a strip of pale, smooth skin. Ten’s gaze settles on it, watching the way Kun’s muscles shift and flex, the shadowed dip of his back where the skin stretches over his spine. Soon, Kun makes a noise of triumph, spare jacket acquired, and Ten tears his eyes away.

Do you have any other headcanons/ideas about the Close Encounters universe that you didn't get to use in the fic? :3
hmm i think i wrote everything i wanted to in that fic! i originally wanted to include the bungee-jumping scene in more detail but got lazy (lol) and also wanted ten to appear as some kind of alien oracle that henyang went to consult and kun was beefing with (and this role ultimately went to coco). but yeah don’t think i left out too much haha and the ending is open to interpretation as to what happens next, although i spoil my personal headcanon in the end notes :)
