-one being because well, megumi’s carrying his baby! and satoru just thinks that’s the most beautiful thing on earth (wow, a little combination of both megumi and him, he really hopes the baby gets megumi’s eyes, looks exactly like their momma, because satoru thinks megumi is the prettiest thing on earth and their baby will be, too, because they made it out of their love for each other.)
-BUT ALSO satoru not only dotes on megumi’s every want and need (megumi has really intense sweet cravings in the middle of the night and of course satoru runs out to the store to buy out the candy section, that’s his damn baby) but satoru also is very. nervous? not that he’d ever show it to megumi, he always puts on a brave face for his boy, but deep down satoru thinks he won’t be a good dad because like. look at him. he’s a mess. and he didn’t exactly have a happy childhood, and his worst fear is that he’ll end up like his parents. so part of his doting on megumi is because he loves and adores megumi of course and wants to take care of the mother of his child, but also part of it is trying to prove to megumi (and even more so, himself) that he’d be a good father and would treat his children kindly and gently and with the softness they deserve, a luxury that was not afforded to satoru (he was the strongest, he wasn’t allowed to be a kid.) but he promises. he’ll give his and megumi’s children a better life. <3
-bonus thought: once megumi starts to show, satoru never takes a hand off his belly, because satoru thinks it’s the hottest thing ever, megumi’s body is changing for him, to carry their baby (and megumi could have anyone, but he chose to have a baby with satoru, and now everyone can fucking see it, how megumi let satoru and no one else inside.) but also satoru is so anxious that something might happen to megumi and their baby that he never ever wants to let megumi out of his sight. so one hand is always, always on megumi, and he hates it when other people try to touch meg’s belly. satoru needs to keep his baby (and his baby’s baby) safe. from everything. and everyone.
