ohoho 👀 i can take a wild guess who this is LMAO here we go:
- they frequently accidentally swap glasses and maruki’s prescription is MUCH worse so rip zenkichi
- maruki is just a bit taller than zenkichi but zenkichi is more muscular so it balances out
- maruki was downright terrified to meet akane but he managed to get her talking about the phantom thieves when they first met and it went well, zenkichi was so relieved
- both of them are former smokers, maruki took it up after rumi after doing it occasionally in college and zenkichi initially quit before akane was born then took it up again after aoi before quitting for akane again
- both of them have had drinking issues too but are getting better with it! they help keep each other accountable for that and the smoking
- akane is also on both of their asses about it and neither of them want to disappoint her :)
- i like to think they somehow meet without the phantom thieves being involved just by chance and when the PT find out they’re like “WTF HOW”
