the Vast Fame ones on GBC. They use the engine from Takara's KOF games so they were working from a solid foundation but they're really good. Especially Queen Fighter 2000

yes at primary school! this was in the 90s so they were already out of date & the school only "officially" used them for some simple educational programs. but because my mum worked at the school I often had to stay late and would mess around with them. eventually I taught myself BASIC from an old library book which was my first experience of programming. so that thing basically set me on the trajectory for a whole life of being a big computer nerd and a career as a professional(?) software developer

But I would quite like to get hold of any Sunplus-hardware plug n play consoles with Nice Code games, a few of them were advertised by Qi Sheng Long but may not have actually been released. I really want to see what kind of work Nice Code was doing on the more advanced hardware, it felt like they were starting to hit their creative stride with their later VT03 games but the whole plug n play market was collapsing on its arse and so they sadly ended up being mostly known and maligned for the famiclone shovelware stuff they did around 2003
