(writing here bc my comment is too long for TWT)
If you feel an impending sense of doom whenever you want to write or read something, it is most likely bc you feel like you won't be consuming content "correctly" or that you're subconsciously scared of branching out and doing something new. (If not, sorry. This is just what I've experienced and I've seen others experience it too) The way to get over it is different for quite literally everyone, but if you want to start off slowly you can write little ideas in Google Docs and read smaller stuff like excerpts on Google or maybe start off with visual novels (like stuff on Wattpad or something?) Or maybe you can just read regular fics on AO3 and take inspo from that?
First of all, sorry for such a late reply, but thank you. What you're saying does make a lot of sense and I also noticed how this makes me perceive what I want to do as tasks, instead of something to simply enjoy😭 I'm not sure how and if I'll ever defeat that because I have lots of things I started and just left like that. I will try my best though🙏
