Hi, your spam post keeps popping up in my feed, I guess because you also interact with the KB fandom, and the algorithm could be quite interesting, so I'm curious, what is proshipping to you? And why so focused on it? What is an anti to you? I'm not hating or being sarcastic, just curious, and it's okay if you don't answer, have a nice day ✌
Hi! I know I put this off for a long time, so it might seem like I wasn't planning to answer it. Sorry about that
So the term proship is being thrown around in all forms, but it originally meant being "for shipping". Basically, everyone does what they want and you have enough decency to mind your business, even if you think a certain ship is weird (pretty much normal fandom etiquette). In all honesty, I'm not so much focused on proshipping as I am on the fact that I dislike how people (antis, specifically) start morality battles over things that don't really matter. I think the whole proship/anti discourse is foolish and incredibly chronically online, because you won't ever see people irl being so pressed over who likes what to this extent. And I'm saying "this extent" because yeah, obviously someone will find certain dead dove dynamics unacceptable (totally understandable), but they won't go on literal witchhunts. Also, fiction and even real life are way too complex to put in the boxes of black and white. You can't expect me to take you seriously when you say that a ship with a 5 year gap is wrong, and meanwhile the media we're talking about has literal mass murderers and mafia members that you adore. Antis are basically people that will come after you if you ship something "wrong", and oftentimes that term is incredibly vague because the meaning could go from literal incest/pedophilia to idk, "this 22 yo character consoled this 18 yo character so now they have a father-son dynamic bc I said so and you can't ship them!!" (This is something that happens a LOT on bsdtwt, I know togtwt is more accepting with ships). Antis will also call proshippers problematic shippers despite the fact that that's not what it means
Tbh I wish I didn't have to label myself with these terms because like I said, it's stupid for me, but I choose to call myself a proshipper because that automatically filters out people that could potentially be one of those harrassers I stay away from. And the reason I'm so focused on it? Because they're extra annoying in this fandom and go through extreme loopholes and biases just to find a reason to dislike a ship. And some of my favourite pairongs are unreasonably hated out here, so I am extra grudgeful (this is long but yeah, I wanted to get my thoughts together before answering😭)
