thank you for asking that coz now i have a whole reason to vomit my thoughts surrounding this topic.

canonically, gvnil probably bought something simple but memorable gift like a sweater or a cool souvenir he saw when they were out hiking~! though i feel like, this time, he’d buy something that jvngsu CAN use, since his last bday gift for him was a snow globe! (he’s quite proud of that ngl) and jvngsu is probably the last person to show disinterest in any material things given to him, so he doesn’t mind whatever type of gifts he gets.

now, if my delusional self was to answer that question… i hope gvnil takes out jvngsu out for a nice meal - doesn’t even have to be those fancy restaurant, could be a nearby samgyupsal resto! then if possible, they can also visit ilsan (jvngsu’s hometown) and just spend the rest of the day getting away from their idol life with jvngsu’s family /head in hands/ and then gvnil would make those lame dad jokes with his parents like can u imagine how embarrassed jvngsu would be but at the same time, so utterly and disgustingly in LOVE with his lover like :-(( “gunil hyung might be a corny dude but he’s my corny dude ^_^”

and before the day ends, just as they’re preparing to go to sleep, gvnil would serenade a song to jvngsu with his fucking acoustic guitar /head in hands/ and then give him THE promise ring :screaming emoji: (i got this from concept from elle, i love u elle thank you for that tweet) like they’d be matching and jvngsu would be so worried coz they definitely can’t wear it at the same time, so gvnil just decided to attach it on his necklace whereas jvngsu wears it normally on his finger :-(( i hope gvnil ends the day peppering kisses all over jvngsu’s face and never stops telling how much he loves him and how loved he is by so many people.
