ใโ Ask Allโ ใโ ใโ Hello. I apologize for my use of the ask all function, but I was thinking about this and felt a bit irritated... If you use fanart (or any art outside of OFFICIAL ART), credit the artist! There is zero excuse not to โ credit the artist and make sure they allow reposts. If you can't find the original artist or they do not allow reposts, then do not use the art. Simple as that.
It is basic courtesy to credit artists if you use their work and to not repost without permission. If you cannot follow these simple rules, then I will be blunt and say that you are being incredibly disrespectful. Do better.
I am aware that this is a large problem within online communities as a whole, but I see it quite a bit in RentryPin and Retrospring (as the two have overlap).
Do not go out and harrass people nonetheless โ If you see stolen uncredited fanart, politely tell the person to either credit or not use it. However, do not be discourteous or harrass said user! Always mind your manners.
