hiii!! www i dont talk about them often, but whenever i do, it tends to get pretty lengthy! theyre extremely important to each other and i greatly appreciate their complicated dynamic... theres soooo much going on between the two of them and it frustrates me when i see people look at them simply from whats on the surface, because almost everything about what we see at face value with these two are fronts that theyve put up. you [HAVE] to dig deeper in order to understand how they actually feel and think about one another; its not just "oh, so they hate each other"—in fact, its not even like that at all!

i suppose i'm intrigued by the symbolism of it all, though i admit i might be reading too much into the work of a young voice actor (not trying to diss hashimoto-san, but osaka-san has appeared in a lot more works that i can find).
by choosing to portray his childhood and adult voices consistently, it's as though they're showing that yuzuru has always been /grown up/. even as a rough soldier who uses 'ore' rather than 'watakushi', he isn't shown speaking with the boyish inflections that ibara has.
or perhaps, they're showing that he hasn't "grown up" even after the military. perhaps he hasn't been hiding behind a single mask, but instead layering them carefully on himself, in a way that he isn't sure where the idol starts and the soldier ends. after all, a mask can muffle one's voice, but not stifle it completely.
again, all of this is wild speculation, and working off what we have from the few voicelines we have from child yuzuru... do let me know what you think though!

yes--i also believe that it could serve really well as symbolism for the fact that yuzuru was never allowed to be a child. as in, he was always expected to act grown despite his very young age. he had been training to become toris butler since... Day One.
when yuzuru was born, he was not JUST a baby. he was seen as someone who would inevitably work under the himemiya family as a butler. once he reached the age old enough to learn, he would be put under rigorous butler training. his fate had been sealed from the very beginning--or, just like rei had told him, even [before] he was born.
when it comes to everyone elses voices, past yuzurus is. damningly similar to present yuzurus. and thats strange, considering the fact that these seiyuu castings, the voice direction--all of it is. meant to be [intentional], no? its all planned years before? if happyelements felt that hashimoto koutarou could not adequately and satisfactorily portray a younger version of yuzuru, then isnt it well within their capability to... cast someone else?
and, see--the thing about hashimoto koutarou is that he CAN do other voices; ive listened to his work as Tsurugi in King of Prism, and it is VASTLY different from how he plays yuzuru. the range that he has with his voice, i feel like, is not as thin as youd think... so its not as though koutarou couldnt pull it off. i dont doubt his skill at all; i think that he is very good at what he does despite his lack of roles/experience.
so maaaybe... possibly, the two of us could actually be on to something...!!! (hopeful)

have you heard yuzuru's child outfit voice before? if you have, what are your thoughts on it being nearly identical to his current voice?
ive heard of it a couple times, yes! id say that i dont really mind. from the snippets that ive heard, he actually CAN sound quite cute and 'different' from the one that he has now. considering that he was probably just barely in his preteen years, i suppose that i do understand why his voice there isnt as different from the one that we know today. the child version that we see for yuzuru (as well as ibara) is actually a lot older than most of everyone elses that weve seen so far...
(i think most childhood versions are either 10 or below. yuzuru and ibara should be around 12-13——and we now have a whole 12yo in the cast, so...? they werent exactly the youngest kids ever by enstars age range standards, if that makes sense.)
anyway!! he sounds nearly identical because his voice actor is the same as his current one right now, but im sure that you already knew that!! i actually think that that detail in particular is cute, haha. the similarity doesnt bother me all that much, but i can understand if you were hoping for something more different; maybe something a lot smaller and more child-like.

GAHH. yes, this is exactly why i mentioned an age regressed yuzuru!! ive nothing very big or super in depth, but i really, REALLY, think that a ~13yo yuzuru navigating his way through a future that he has no idea about is so interesting. i feel like there would be a ton of value in gauging his reactions to being told/funding out how his "older self" is like and exactly what near future he is supposed to be working toward. when he was younger, he didnt really like the fact that he had to serve under tori as her butler, so itd be sooo interesting to see how a regressed state of him would respond.
his behavior would be, like, Super peculiar as well. i can imagine him dressing in a lot more of a punk-ish casual (since hes been described to dress like a delinquent in his younger years) and shocking everyone who happens to see him. lol.
anyway! his childhood was taken away from him (and so was basically nearly his entire life) and tori actually feels really responsible for that, so i would imagine that she would be especially overjoyed to help an age regressed yuzuru experience certain things that he never got to, that tori otherwise did herself. i feel like everyone in fine have had difficult childhoods, none of which were "normal", so they could probably satisfy their inner childhood selves while paying extra mind to yuzurus...

thats a good question! hmm... (∩⌣̀_⌣́)
this is a little hard especially considering the fact that wteis and yztrs dynamics are definitely going to always be touched upon in some way for basically every fine story, but i will try to answer with best of my ability!
atlantis is the first that comes to mind, as it focuses more on the relationship and dynamic between wataru and tori... yuzuru doesnt feel quite as involved with tori as eichi and wataru were. he was just there for some fun bits and serious bits. of course, there will be moments, but yztr doesnt seem to be the main focus for atlantis! you can argue that there are the wtei bits, but i dunno... i dont think theyre much of the focus either. i believe their attention and focus is mostly on tori throughout the entire story!
i do believe that magnolia is more centered around tori and eichi? its been awhile since ive read it, but even though yuzuru shares a matching 5☆ card with him, most of it is him helping tori with the whole gift thing. eichi got yuzuru, yuzuru got wataru, wataru got tori, and tori got eichi!
flowerfes is. hm. yuzuru and tori are properly introduced to wataru for the first time in this story. eichi isnt exactly present within the story, however... yztr isnt exactly the main focus, i think. theyre together a lot, of course, but thats because of yuzurus role as toris butler, so its a little hard to avoid such circumstances;; still an extremely important story, though. super duper important.
summer vacation is also really good, i think! its the story where we get the most out of yzei. lol. yuzuru in general just seems to be the main focus for this one (that or im just a yuzuruP with yuzuru tunnel vision) and undead is there, too, of course, but yknow...
honestly. there are definitely fine stories that do sorta center around wtei (i cant think of an example. probably ep:link?) and yztr (like primavera or toyland), but i think theyre all still pretty valuable and worth the read. 😓 its a bit difficult for me to recommend that many stories that "arent centered around wtei or yztr" especially since i first and foremost value yuzurus relationship with every single member, so i take every single crumb of interaction that i can get and run with it without realizing just how little of it there actually was!
theres ghostic, maybe... and tempest, too. i think tempest is really good for everyone and Not just wtei. its really good for yuzuru (biased). wtei do have two or three chapters dedicated to them speaking one-on-one with each other but yuzuru is a key element to what keeps their conversation going. they talk about yuzuru a lot. the synopsis for tempest even mentions yuzuru!
i hope this helps a little. if someone wants to chip in and add their two cents to this, then thatd be fine, too!

you'll get this answer from every nikiP out there but hot limit is the #1 story to read in terms of niki and his relationship with being an idol! .^_^ other than that niki unfortunately does not have many event or scout stories focused on his personal development, though the idol stories "season it as you like" and "the flavor i remember is..." are centered around niki's kitchen if you haven't read those yet!

any yuzu stories to do recommend to get to know him more. after the bew story event sparked or dare i say almost got me out of hiding. me being an inner yuzuP in denial. I do find him very pretty and I like his voice.
(rubs hands together) boy do i have the yuzuru story recommendations for YOU...
every single yuzuruP will tell you this——the best story to read for him is Gang! you get to know a lot about how he was like when he was a child as well as the relationship between him and ibara while in the military. theres this really long monologue that he has for himself the chapter just before the epilogue, and it is extremely telling for his character, imo...
other stories id highly recommend when getting into yuzuru, though not in any particular order or anything:
• Fist of the Shangri-la Idol
• The Flag's Honor ＊ Flower Festival
• Summer Vacation
• Noble Game
* Graduation
* Tempest
these are only some, of course. id also like to recommend Toyland, EP:Link, and probably Primavera?
i believe Toyland is a really good reference to use in order to understand the relationship that yuzuru and tori have with each other (Graduation also puts a lot of emphasis and attention to their master/servant dynamic, if that is what interests you).
EP:Link is just a given, i feel like, there arent MANY when it comes to yuzuru but i did learn a few things about him there that really made me think (especially in regards to what eichi says to wataru about him somewhere later in the story...).
Primavera is infamous for how boring it is and how it essentially gave us near nothing, but i do think that its important in the sense that it also kinda gives you more insight to yuzurus relationship with tori...? since the entire premise surrounds yuzuru being troubled because hes keeping things from tori about the himemiya familys unethical businesses and whatnot.
