is it worth applying at all if I haven't written anything for P4 yet? I love the zine concept and I love Naoto, but haven't had the chance to write a fic for p4 yet despite having been in the fandom a while. I understand if not!
Oh, absolutely go right ahead! Even if you havent written for p4 yet, the rest of your works will give us a good idea of what you write like - and if you're able, there's a section to submit something Naoto related, but don't feel like it's necessary to submit anything there. hi! ik this is a pretty late-game question regarding applications, but would it be ok to not include many naoto/persona related drawings in our art portfolios? i have drawn them before i just don't think the pieces that i've included them in would be the best representation of my work TwT

Hello I’m curious in applying for a comic part, how long and detail are you all wanting a comic to be?
Also it’s ok if you can’t answer this or not, if there plenty of people already Applied for comic part or not?
A comic can be pretty much anything you want it to be! However long, however detailed! Whatever your style deems complete is good with us, whether that be color, black and white, sketchy lineart, etc.! At minimum, comics and page art should definitely have a background and a little bit of shading for depth purposes.
In terms of numbers of applicants, we prefer not to release that until after application period is over because we don’t want to discourage anyone from applying! Thank you so much for your question! -Mod Lux

Hi, for people applying for both page/cover art and for comic art, do you want separate portfolios or to just have a comic as oe of the pieces, or is a comic sample ot required? Also, is a multi-page comic okay to cout as a sigle piece? (sorry, oe of my letter keys has stopped workig. im sure you ca tell which oe)
Hello! I am so so sorry for the late response! I've been on holiday and have returned mildly ill (allergies) but to answer your question: oh gosh no! Please please do not send us separate portfolios! And yes, a multi-page comic works just fine! In fact, personally, I don't think a comic piece is really necessary to apply as a comic artist as I feel any style will lend well to the format.
What I will tell you, though, is something no one ever told me before applying as a comic artist to zines -- if you are selected to do a comic for us, be prepared to find and use a font that is "free to use commercially." It's highly unlikely we would run into copyright problems down the road, but always good to have it just in case. If your art program doesn't support importing fonts, let us know immediately and we will do the font work for you! (you can always of course use legible handwriting as well)

For the writing portfolio, you said three Persona works, at least one focusing on Naoto. Is it okay to include non-Persona works as examples of our writing?
Yup, absolutely! We don't mind what you send in as your examples, but we do request a little bit of Naoto if it's not in the portfolio, so we can get a gauge on how you'll write them! -Mod Axel

is there any form of age req?
We are incredibly sorry that this wasn’t included in the FAQ beforehand! It had completely slipped our minds since the zine is free and SFW. However, considering the themes of Persona and the themes our current applicants want to explore (which are dark within reason), we ask that our applicants be of at least 16 years of age as of the current year on July 16th. We will be updating the FAQ accordingly. Sorry again for confusion. -Mod Lux

Hi, if you do end up closing applications early it’d be great if it was announced at least a day or two before. I’m currently delaying my application to work on a bigger portfolio, and i’d hate to miss my chance :(
If apps become inaccessible between now and the deadline to apply, we ask that someone please let us know immediately because that would be an accident, and we have no intentions to close early! Our condolences if this is an experience you’ve had in the past with zines, but, again, we have no intention of doing this. We’re looking forward to seeing your application, and we encourage everyone to take as much time as they need and please don’t feel rushed <3 !! This might’ve gotten answered previously (if that’s the case, ignore this) but how many artists are you looking for in total? (PS: the retrospring coloring and layout is so good lol)
We are currently looking at 23 artists (15 page, 5 merch, 3 comic) and 10 writers, but that is subject to change depending on how many applications we receive! We hope that you will not be discouraged by this number, as, again, it is subject to change! (also thank you!! >w<) -Mod Lux
