I think it depends on the character(s) and how their shapes interact....I like drawing poses where expressions are visible, seeing the character reactions is just as important, if not more important, than the position. I also like drawing characters in poses where they can grab + touch each other, it's nice for the intimacy and also makes me "feel" like I'm there
