hello sere!! could you elaborate on your love for usamamo? i know you talk about them all the time, but have you ever done a "cohesive piece" on why they are your favourite shipp? rant all you want, it's just a curiosity of mine lol
cant say ive ever done a cohesive piece but [deep inhale] i love how they love how eternally devoted they are to one another, their souls are intertwined their meeting was written in the stars they find each other in every life and they choose one another all over again that is so beautiful to me. one of my favorite aspects of their relationship is that they are sun/moon in the most unconventional way: you look at them design/personality wise and instantly peg usagi as the sun and mamoru as the moon, but in reality thats not it at all USAGIS guardian planet is the moon MAMORUS is the sun. and yet when you delve into their relationship it starts to make so much more sense in the same way the moon needs the sun’s light to shine; mamoru is usually the one supporting usagi. building off of that i love the way they complete each other in every way, naoko once described mamoru as “usagis other half” in these like arc recap pages you find at the end of the materials collection and that cant be more accurate. they truly are two halves to one whole, on a literal level their personalities are contrasting while at their cores they are so fundamentally the same, and on a spiritual level the golden and silver crystals are meant to be compliments to one another they feed on each others power in like a never ending positive feedback loop. i love that their love literally makes them stronger like yeah!! make out before a fight for a x2 damage boost!! and of course i love the subversion of the classic shounen love interest its nice and refreshing for the guy to be the damsel and the one who is unequivocally behind the girl in absolutely everything she does: existing entirely to aid her, its probably the basis naoko built their relationship off of. but yeah! theres more but i feel ive yapped enough for now and my brain is empty now
