yeah that's basically it lol plus "why can't they be friends" works as an argument against wlm ships because it's seen as the default irl, which is what annoys the fuck out of women (and is often used against them irl!! the whole men and women can't be friends ideology is literally doused in patriarchal standards). if you see a gay couple irl there's a 90% chance people will assume they're just friends though so it's rly funny how ppl have double standards but refuse to admit they're double standards bc they're too busy thinking of the default.
