i can't help but be a little jealous of you... i wish i had as many people be interested in and care about my WoL as you do. sometimes it feels like i shouldn't even bother sharing stuff because no one is going to see it anyway. how did you get such a big following?
Hi anon, thanks for the question.
I know it's hard to look at someone's following and correlate that to why someone's character is known in the community, but really, I talked about my character just like how anyone else would, and people, to my surprise, wanted to see that. I honestly cannot tell you how I even got here, but I believe it's really because of the community and how everyone comes together to talk about their blorbos freely like it's a weekly - even daily, show-and-tell.
I created the wolsday questions to get others (including myself) to be comfortable enough to talk about OCs. I genuinely do read through the replies and QRTs, and it's fascinating how much people dedicate into thinking about their own characters. Hell, even I get envious of how cool other people's OCs are... They're all so unique, and that's the beauty of it all, isn't it?
What I can say is that you shouldn't have to feel discouraged; you made this all by yourself and you're continuing to improve and create more, and I think that's wonderful. Keep sharing and talking about your little guys! You worked hard and that should be worth celebrating. From the biggest lore drops to the smallest changes, just keep doing what you're doing. As long as you're happy with it, who's to stop you?
your wol is such a stupid convoluted self insert ... it's actually embarrassing that you can post her "lore" and expect people to take you seriously
Hi, I know this is a bait question, but I will answer it respectfully because it's been a while since I've had someone say something to me, and I'm sure there may be others who may have unfortunately faced unkind comments like this that discouraged or even scared them away from ever sharing their creativity over something they cherish so dearly. Allow me to get on my soap box for a bit.
I would love if my wol was an actual self-insert of myself. I'm no where near who or what she is nor will ever and it's fine that I'm not. I'm not Viria and Viria is not me. I'll save you the details of what you may think of as a sob story, but I actually re-did her lore during a rough shift in my life right when Shadowbringers just came out in 2019. She's a labor of love I've had since 2014 when I first played this game. She's nothing like was back then, and she may not be the same character in the future, and that's the beauty of an OC. Nothing's ever set in stone, and even if I do add self-insert aspects to her, she's still something I created for myself, and nothing will change that.
Funnily enough, I had someone very close to me who had said the exact the thing that you said, and back then, I listened to that comment and kept everything to myself, being ashamed of what I have created because I dared to indulge and adore this game, and her, so much. Call it an addiction, call me stupid, call her convoluted, call it anything else. I've heard it all. I've changed since then, I'm way better off for it.
I don't expect people to ever take her seriously. I don't even take her seriously. She's a bunny girl from a fantasy game who saves the world. Sure, it may be embarrassing to you, and hey, even to myself, but I at least find comfort in her and being able to talk about her in such a warm and kind community of like-minded individuals. I'm sure your WOLs/OCs are just as lovely, and I hope you can be able to share and talk about yours, and that people will listen.
Hope this message finds you well and thank you for time, anon.
Apologies if this has been answered already but why are Viria's eyes red in Heavensward?
Hi hi, her eye is red in Heavensward because Bahamut finally woke up after his slumber since the Calamity due to her unlocking Dreadwyrm Trance.
He started stirring within her soul around the end of ARR. The dragon's roar at the end of the credits (assuming it was one of the First Brood or Midgardsormr) was the catalyst. When she finally meets Midgardsormr himself during the events of the Keeper of the Lake, he comments vaguely comments that his son (he's addressing Viria as his own child) will awaken soon.
Viria eats at the Last Stand with her friends. Who does the waiter hand the bill to when they come up to the table?
Hi hi! I love Miss Viria and the lore you've built with her! :D Is there anything you do to keep all of it in order? Like an app to organize it or do you also take the many documents of lore approach?
Hi hi and thank you!!
I'm pretty unorganized when it comes to my lore - majority of it is still in my head, spread around different Google docs and Twitter, but when I do eventually upload and combine everything, I'll put everything on a site. Toyhouse or creating your own caard would be the best way to showcase it!
Hello, odd question. As someone who plays Hyur, I get told I picked the "boring" option so now I'm curious if you're ever told you picked the "boring" option in liking Hyurs even if you don't play one.
I'm so sorry those people don't have good taste. There's no such thing as a "boring" option when, first of all, there's a limited option of what you can choose and play, and second, when it doesn't affect anyone's game but yours. You do you!! Hyurs are amazing, please don't ever be discouraged about that.
And yes, I have had the same comments said to me before because a good majority of the characters I like in XIV are Hyurs. If they're considered boring, then why do they keep creating good-looking humans? I mean, look at Ancients. Yes, a good portion of them are peeled races, but they're hot!! And human-adjacent!! I'm a simple person and so are Hyurs, and if that's considered basic/boring, then damn, guess we all are too.
Why did you initially make the switch to fem viera/do you ever want think about what race you’d choose for your wol if viera didn’t exist?
I have a HUGE bias for bunnies, so knowing about the Viera from FF12, I prayed for the day they would eventually come. After all, we have catgirls and lizardgirls, we can get bunnygirls, right? Back in 2013, the devs did an April Fool's joke where they teased a hybrid of Bangaa and Viera and I was immediately glued to the idea only to be tailsgetstrolled.jpg, but I always had hope!!!
So imagine my reaction sitting there at the airbnb with my friends during the NA Fanfest in 2018 when they finally announced Viera. I lost my sense of humanity for a second and people were there to witness it.
But to answer the last part of your question, I started as a Keeper catgirl and tried out Au'ra, Highlander, and Lalafell at times then went back to Keeper. If Viera was never announced, I think I would've became a Midlander because they're cute and I'm a simple blob who thinks human ears are very moe and a charm point.
I just want to let you know that Miss Viria is such a big role model and source of inspiration!! As for the question, how well can she tolerate heat/spiciness?
Thank you!! 💖
Yes, she can! Because of Ifrit and Phoenix's blessings, she can tolerate any level of spice as it nullifies the pain. Her body will still react normally (i.e sweating) but her taste buds only taste the flavor, not the heat! 🔥
She can be literally be lit on fire and will be fine.
why did you start playing ff14?
I was going through a lot™️ during early uni days and an ex-friend started to tell me everything about XIV right at the time 1.0 JUST shut off its servers. He shared the first Answers video with me and I became super invested. I never played a FF game before and the current MMO I was playing, Mabinogi, was a financial nightmare for me so I decided to take a leap of faith and I never looked back!
can you follow me on twitter?
What does Miss Viria find to be her favorite feature? She looks in the mirror and goes, "Yes, good. ^_^" about it; what is it?
Her favorite feature is either her hair, chest, or thighs! She spends the most time on her hair whenever she gets ready. It has to be perfect. Sorry to whomever has to wait for her in the morning.
Her chest is blessed by Bahamut himself, so she takes pride in that (kinda joking), but she believes her thighs are her greatest asset, even if people don't pay too much attention to them. Her hidden weapon! It's one of the reasons she NEVER wears pants.
I really like ur Viera, shes very cute <3
Also, whats Viria's fav food 🤔
Nothing to ask but just wanted to say I enjoy the content you post!
