Could potential applicants only do the written portion and if accepted complete the visual? I'm not an artist and would rather only be judged for the written part and not disqualified because of my bad art...
Because a visual is required it's preferable that you submit it alongside your written application.
Either way, we will never judge you by the quality of your artwork!
Majority of evaluation will be weighted on your writing and not your art, so as long as you are able to submit some semblance of your character (even if it is completely rudimentary, such as just lines and flat color if this is what feels most comfortable at your skill level) you will not be disqualified in any way or form. If you are successful you can redraw or even commission the artwork at any time.
