Im scrolling down your rs (if you don't mind) and you said that you're pursuing a career in forensic psychopathology and criminology? Is that a concentration in criminology major or something? Because that sound cool and it's the first time i heard it
I don't mind at all haha (I hope you enjoyed the back and forth between me and my friend who I locked in RS jail for bothering me on a Sunday afternoon ). When I was younger, I was really eager to do defense work ( even did several internships at smaller firms that mainly did patent and non-profit environmental law to test my resolve ), studied a LOT, and quickly realized that I'm not argumentative enough to pursue law as a career.
So I'm studying psychology right now ( in undergrad ), concentrating on psychopathology, with the intent to use it in a legal context as an advisor/evaluator, as a professional in special education, as a treatment provider, or ( separate dream career path ) to study the onset of psychosis in young adulthood. Forensic psychopathology ( psychological analysis of mental illness/disorders as related to criminal behavior -- aimed towards solving crimes and making plans for prevention/intervention ) is my dream, and I'm working toward it, but there are so many other interesting things I want to do that I'm quite open to distractions.
Working as an aid and/or as counsel to the defense appeals to me, as does being a provider of assessment and treatment for those incarcerated ( I think society at large punishes mental illness as a way to circumvent providing care--and when 'care' is provided, it's often horrendously abusive and unhelpful, which is something I feel strongly about and want to see change ). Also, criminology, while fascinating in theory, is rarely used in practice because most of the data is correlational--and at most, you could help provide justifications for legal decisions as a way to help ( very very difficult ) or you could assist law enforcement, neither of which I want to do. I'd still love for criminology to be something I study, though. I dipped my toes in and found it incredibly theory-based but still highly inspiring.
All that to say, things are up in the air for me. I often forget it, but I'm still young and have plenty of time to sort out what I want to do and how I want to achieve it, so I'm not dead set on any one career just yet. Although I do fantasize quite often about opening an afternoon tea and coffee shop ( and the busy hectic lifestyle that it will give me ). But because of my lived experience, I'm quite passionate about making a difference--especially in prevention--for kids with CD/ASPD, who are often doomed to the justice system by a lack of support systems and intervention.
PHEW. I blinked and suddenly there was a gazillion words in front of me i am SO sorry. It's hard for me to rein myself in once i get started on something but i hope this was a thorough and helpful explanation of what i want to do :3 thank you so much for asking! i really love talking hehe, and sorry I took so long to reply ;_;

THANK YOU SO MUCH <3333333 eek!!! that means a lot. really. my completed one ( WIA :,) ) is rough, but it's the first full-length thing I've ever written so that means so much to me, thank you. Also glad to hear you're enjoying TSP. I've been quite obsessed with writing it. <3 I hope you're having a lovely day. tsym <333
Do you have any book recommendations? (also I love your writing so so much and I hope you're having a wonderful day T_T)
Oh my gosh!! So so many. I'm going to narrow it down to three that I've really enjoyed recently to keep things short! otherwise, i might hit whatever word limit is set for these replies . . . ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ
Before the coffee gets cold - Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Short, sweet, and I, embarrassingly, teared up a little as I was reading ( reading, very appropriately, in a cafe with a cup of coffee ). The translation work might feel rough, but it really captures the vibe of Japanese storytelling and Japanese dialogue, especially. I felt right at home reading it.
Black Dhalia, Red Rose - Piu Eatwell
Eatwell is excellent at what she does. She's got training as a lawyer, access to FBI documents, and a stunning review of the material culture left from the Black Dhalia murder and uses it all to present a SUPER tight case for what really happened January 1947. Admittedly, when I picked it up in the bookstore, I skimmed the first chapter not expecting much. But she just grabs you with her writing, and I'm honestly inclined to believe her, despite having some doubts myself because of other circumstances around other suspects. Really great work on her part.
lastly, on a lighter note
Gosh, thank you so much. I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy my writing agh it means the world. I hope you're having a wonderful day! TYSM!! <3
i've been reading tsp since you've started posting chapters and i'm so amazed every chapter at how everythings connected and how you've put together the story. honestly can't wait to see how everything unfolds ie chuuya's death and dazai's and when all the pieces fall into place for atsushi and akutagawa
oh my gosh thank you so much!! since the beginning . . . i can't believe it's been almost 3 months already, i feel like it's going by so fast???
I'm also excited for everything to fall into place, though a bit nervous about meeting the expectations I've set for myself regarding the ending >_< thank you so so much for reading and reaching out to say this :,) It really really means the world <3
i saw that there’s an explicit tag in tsp can u tell me what is their dynamic for me to see if i wanna get into it bc i get the ick depending of who’s t/b 😭
oh my gosh i'm so sorry, i didn't even consider tagging that! that's my bad, i apologize, and I'll do it right away :)
put simply, dazai's a top and chuuya's a bottom. their dynamic is a little complicated (?) and changes as the story progresses, but without any spoilers, dazai is a sub/service top ( kind of obsessed ) and chuuya is on the receiving / worshipped end of his attention.
Sorry for not providing the proper tags! thank you for reaching out about that ^^
I hope you're having a wonderful day
