Feel free to ignore if you don't want to answer this, but are you transitioning from another career into nursing? If so, what brought you to that decision?
Hi! You're so sweet! I'm not changing careers but I did majorly change my major from STEM to nursing. When I was in high school I'd thought I wanted to be a nurse but also loved stem and just ended up changing my mind one night. The nursing program had a waitlist and pre reqs that took a while to do so I'm glad I'm finally done! Just the nclex now. Happy new year to you, too! <3

Since you’re bout to be a baby nurse does that mean you’ll have to start out on the graveyard shift or could potentially get an evening shift?
Also, for clinicals during nursing school, are those all daytime hours? Or do they make you experience the night shift in school
Shifts probably depend where you work but I think a lot of us start with overnights! I don't mind overnight, plus they're paid like 5-6$ more per hour.
For clinical, it was all during the day. 7am to either 5 or 7pm. You have to have faculty on-site with you so it goes along with their work schedule too.

Just curious as I am considering nursing school, were you working while you were in school? I’m not sure how hard it’d be to keep a job on top of schooling
I didn't have a conventional job! So I would say very, very part time.
There were plenty of students with jobs AND kids who managed! I think it would have been pretty doable until our last semester. We had exams every other week and 7 12 hour shifts in the hospital during preceptorship. That was rough for those who worked. (I was in a two year program)
