irls are not a healthy way of coping with past trauma, being someone you arent can damage self esteem and image on you and yourself as a whole. its fine to have a character represent you in some ways but thinking you are a fictional character is concerning. it can also affect the ideas of many kids and minors that interact with the irl community and potientially be gaslighted into thinking they are an irl. they arent delusions since they can be shaken. delusions usually happen with episodes and dont usually last more than a month. while experiencing these episodes irls acknowledge that they are "delusional." you and your friends dont take the nesscities to grow as an individual from your viewpoint. i was once in a similar position, wanting to be different and fit in but it hurts how you view yourself. its not gonna hurt you to get the help you need its perfectly fine and nobody would be embarrassed, its your mental health make sure to take care of it.
