Top 3 most beloved Kitaros and why
After reviewing all the Kitaros in their different personalities, I can finally put together a top! First place my little Kitaro 4 (Matsuoka). He is the Kitaro that I saw in my childhood and he has a special tenderness. His love for his father and nature is something that makes me fall in love. Then there's Kitaro 3 (Toda) it's so grumpy!!! He has a personality that stands out from the rest, always angry, but very dedicated to his fight to maintain peace between humans and yokai. Although I feel like he just wants to be at peace and have his balls swell. Finally I have Kitaro 5 (Takayama) and I am very sorry that it is not translated so that everyone can enjoy it. Kitaro 5 is funny, it has a different aura with more characters, the breaking of the fourth wall, the way it tells the chapters is unique!! I am very sorry that he does not have the recognition he deserves, because I feel that he deserves everything. Let that format come back, the yokai village, the adventures of Medama, that joking and serious Kitaro. Please you have to give it a chance.
I will make a special mention: Hakaba Kitaro. I think everyone should give it a chance. A wonderful animation, the colors, the voices, THE OPENING!!!! I really love each chapter that has a dark aura and it seems perfect to me that it appeared in parallel with Kitaro 5. They are two sides of the coin and this personality of Kitaro without special powers, but being the boy from the cemetery. I love it and I really dream of another season 💙✨
What were your favorite shows as a kid, a teen, young adult and now?
When I was very little, my uncles told me that I was a fan of the series Keroppi and Friends. When I was a kid, I watched Digimon, Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Kitaro, Nintama, Trigun. Also South Park on MTV. As teenagers I got really hooked on HxH, Naruto and FMA (the first one). Now as an adult I consumed Shingeki no Kyojin or Haikyuu and I feel like I never felt a love for another series like before. The remakes or reboots of those that I saw in my childhood (like Kitaro or Trigun) later had a hard time getting me hooked on another series or cartoon. I think that might be considered my favorite.
