Personally it has never happened to me, but if that's the case I would try to talk about it with them or either see if this "I wanna yume them" is something temporary or not 🩷

Most times, I feel bad being a non-sharer with multiple oshis... Like, everytime I yume in a fandom, I always end up having 2+ partners everytime and I feel really guilty about it. Of course, I encourage others to yume the same oshis as me if they'd like and only ask to not interact with me as much. Still... I feel really bad and sometimes wish I was a sharer instead. :(
You don't have to feel bad, to yume is a personal experience and everyone has their causes to be sharing, non-sharing or selective, so please don't worry 🩷

When u yume, do y'all insert yourselves the way u are (for art etc), use sonas with traits you'd like, use sonas that share traits with u and have some differences, use ocs...? i'm having trouble deciding on this myself so i'd like to see others' opinions :thinking:
For my main two yume(s) I've been using OCs that share some characteristics with me personality-wise, but as of lately I've been using a silly sona that needed to be in the Pokémon universe just to cause trouble xD (and now she has randomically became an idol for a specific, messy AU). As for others CCs, I usually do with OCs that are either very similar to me or the polar opposite... It depends on the mood 🩷

Is it still yume if i only like them for a short time? I have adhd so i hyperfix on a fandom but drop it after a few weeks, every fandom I've joined I have an f/o in and I do miss them but I'm not fully "deep" into them

hiii i’m new to yumeshipping and this might be a bit of a dumb question but what does “sharing” mean? (in the context of yumeshipping)?
It means if you're okay to share your f/o, to see other people also shipping with themselves, talk about them in your same light and seeing them drawn with their yumeship, if I've explained myself well!

I relate pretty much to them (Lisa and Saki) plus the fact that they have summer cards is good because I can decorate my layout for the season 🩷 it's just a little thing I like to do, to make everything I do aesthetically pleasing when it's possible.

I believe that the feelings you hold for them are enough, personally 🩷 If you have the money and possibility, though, a lot of people get plushies of their f/o(s) to cope with this missing. Also writing and reading cc × reader is a good alternative and lots of people do also chats with c.ai to compensate more. I personally dislike generative AI, but c.ai is not that bad in comparison to the other, bad things I've seen with AI, I don't know if this makes sense somehow.

If you want a short answer, it would be "to selfship yourself with a fictional character, usually your favourite". However, to yume isn't limited to romantic aspects, it can also be a platonic, queeplatonic, some even familial connections and it can be via OC or a self insert. I think it's such a personal experience that, in my opinion, a good definition would be "to create a meaningful connection with a character, directly or indirectly".

Sorry! I had a question about the ethics of yumeshipping.. I’m a minor who yumes an adult character who is a lot lot older than me (around.. twice my age.) I was wondering if this was a concern since if the roles were swapped, it would definitely be an issue!!
My solution in these cases is always to make an OC/self-insert that is around their age 🩷

hihi!!! im extremely new to the yumeship/selfship community!! and something that has kindaaa been on my mind recently is the thought my selfship might be misinterpreted as proship :( for context, i selfship with a character who is around 25/30 years old. and my self insert is 25. but i am a minor. and people have been asking why im shipping myself with this character if im a minor and AUGHHH ITS SO STRESSFUL??? not a question but id like ur opinions on the topic ^u^
I think that, as long as your s/i is around your f/o age's is more than ok, in my personal opinion 🩷 as for the causes, we don't purposely "choose" who to yume, but we can choose how to yume them, if that makes sense!!
