I just feel like they’d have such good parallels here
Before, because of his tragic past, Sukuna did not believe that Yuuji (or anyone really) could actually genuinely care about him, so he thought that Yuuji was lying to and just trying to mock him
And here, because of his past with Sukuna, Yuuji did not believe that Sukuna genuinely cared about him, so he thought that Sukuna was lying to and just trying to mock him
Before, because Yuuji was fundamentally challenging Sukuna’s entire worldview and perception of himself as someone who believed that love was worthless and was something that he didn’t desire or need, Sukuna got absolutely enraged at Yuuji and was getting increasingly unhinged
And here, because Sukuna was fundamentally challenging Yuuji’s entire worldview and perspective of himself as someone who must dedicate and sacrifice his life for others’ sake no matter what, Yuuji got absolutely enraged at Sukuna and was getting increasingly unhinged
But eventually, just like Yuuji got through to Sukuna, Sukuna will get through to Yuuji, and Yuuji will see the light
And Yuuji will be so scared to go north for his next life. He is so used to living a life only for the sake of others that the idea of also living for himself, while something he became willing to try, was something foreign and frightening to him. But it’s ok, because Sukuna will take his hand and patiently guide Yuuji to the other side
And in the next life, where both Sukuna and Yuuji found a more healthy balance between the extremes of complete selfishness and complete selflessness, they are finally in a place where they can live and be happy together ❤️
them both being able to find a balance between their innate selfishness and selflessness that they had allowed define themselves in their previous lives. . . all because of the efforts and devotion of the other. oh this is so special to me, going through the same process as the other has done and eventually meeting in the middle of it all, so they can find a true state of happiness and end this cycle of continuous reincarnation and suffering, all because yuuji had helped sukuna and sukuna had helped yuuji in the next life. they were truly meant to guide one another to the light and experience true happiness together.
