Hi there!

While I understand that Kroalinas is stepping down for personal reasons-- I'm a little confused as to the purpose of shipping the items to the new mod? Isn't that just the same amount of work as it would be to ship the items to the consumers individually? I'm just concerned for the potential of items getting lost and a new shipping mod coming in so late in the game- especially since so many zines have had issues with finance and shipping mods lately in regards to theft and ghosting in general.

Thanks for reaching out! We understand there may be some concerns seeing a new shipping mod join at this stage of the timeline. Overall, the decision was made because this is what the mod team felt was the best choice in ensuring that buyers can receive their items in a timely manner, and in good condition.

Mod Soul Starshine has previous experience as an emergency shipping mod, where they have joined zine teams at later stages to take over shipping duties in the event that the original mod could not fulfill orders but has had the items ordered to their location. We have no reason to believe that their onboarding will increase the potential for lost or late items.

Currently, all of our merch items are still in their bulk packaging from the manufacturers, and we are still waiting for our zines to finish production. Mailing to our buyers would require Mod Kroalias to wait until our zines arrive, then open and bundle each package (requiring them to open the bulk packaging, separate every item, and arrange the items together for hundreds of orders).

This is a more time & labor-intensive process than simply mailing the pre-packaged bulk boxes to Mod Soul Starshine - especially considering that Mod Kroalias would also have to fill out not only the shipping form itself but also any associated customs forms, then track packages, resend any that don't arrive, and also complete leftover sales with our zine.

In comparison, shipping to Mod Soul Starshine allows Mod Kroalias to keep the items in their bulk packaging, and allows them to step down from the project once they send the pre-packaged bulk boxes over.

Mod Soul Starshine will also be counting & quality-checking the items upon receipt. This will ensure that nothing was lost or damaged in transit. From there, they will take on the remainder of Mod Kroalias' duties for the next several months.

Additionally, while you did not mention it directly, we want to reassure you that Mod Kroalias was responsible solely for shipping in our zine. Mod Fluffy_Jessekun is handling all of our finances and has kept the funds safe and accounted for during this time.

Hello.
I've heard from other sources your shipping mod has ghosted several other events. Can you confirm if this zine is still happening? It's been over 8 months since preorders and your last update was in June.

To specifically address the shipping mod concerns — while our current shipping mod is stepping down due to IRL concerns, they are still in close contact with our mod team and have kindly agreed to ship out all our current merch items to their replacement. This will not impact our timeline as we are still waiting for our zines to arrive!

To recap: we have made some updates to our mod team, including our formatting mod and our shipping mod. A new physical proof order is currently in production. We aim to begin shipping by the end of the year, and will have a more accurate timeline once we receive our zines and cards.

do you expect there to be any merch during leftover sales?

At this time, we are unable to confirm any potential leftover quantities though we’re sure to have at least some. Our first priority will be to make sure our pre-order buyers and contributors receive their orders before we assess any remaining stock for leftovers.

do you think you will have any physical zines left during leftovers? i bought a digital zine but i would love to try and get a physical one if i can!

At this time, we are unable to confirm if we will have physical zines for sale during leftovers — though we most likely will! Once zine production and pre-order shipping is complete, we will be able to assess any remaining stock for leftovers.

When will digital orders be sent out?

Since this is a pre-order zine, digital bundles will get sent out when physical orders are shipped out, so that all customers can enjoy their purchases around the same time. We just began production and are aiming for delivery in the spring. We'll be posting updates on twitter, tumblr and to our mailing list if you want to follow along and see how production is going. Hi, does the deck have any NSFW art like the zine?

Hello! The Oracle Deck does feature some artwork with artistic nudity, but none of them have full frontal or explicit scenes. The zine, however, does have an NSFW section which includes explicit artwork and writing, and is 50/50 split with SFW content. All merch items are shown in full on our store website and are SFW.

Nope! There are no stock or time limits on any of the bundles, so you have plenty of time to save up and get the bundle you want! Pre-orders will run until December 5.

The carrd says that you will be accepting "8-10 writers and 15-18 artists and 2 merch artists;" do those numbers include guest contributors, or will all of those participants be coming from applicants?

can i ask how the cover artist will be determined??

We allowed our guest contributors first pick of which items they would like to create. One of our guests selected the cover for their art package and will be tackling that design with our formatting mod. Any applicants who applied for cover will still be eligible for any other items they selected! The acceptance letter will include the items that have been assigned to them, based on those selections.
