On the info doc, the merch artist section says “upwards of three complete merchandise experience.” What do you recommend if I only have one sample of merchandise I’ve completed, but have other non-merchandise works in the style I would like to do for merchandise?
Hello! When we said at least three complete merchandise, we just meant design wise it should be complete, with no WIPs. It is absolutely okay if you have not made the design an actual merchandise as long as the art itself is complete. Hope this answers your question! I saw that you will judge the applications blind to avoid bias, but if you're biased towards an artist, wouldn't you know their work so you would recognize their portfolio even without seeing their name?
In the event that all the judging mods recognize the same artist, they have been instructed to defer to other mods. It's impossible to avoid familiarity bias but we are hoping that being truthful about artist recognition will result in a fairier vote. Logistically, not every mod will recognize the same art style and if they do we have the above method to combat that. Our blind apps process is a response to smaller, less-promoted Genshin creatives who are often overwhelmed by the Genshin zine scene. Our goal is to avoid picking popular artists simply because they are popular.

Hi! I'm a little nervous about the anonymity restrictions for the applications. Am I allowed to include work that I've currently got published on ao3 as some of my samples?
Our Assistant Mod will be setting up the blind apps — while anonymous doc submissions are preferred, she will be able to convert AO3 links to anonymous samples.

for writer apps, are links to individual works posted on ao3 allowed?
It would be much preferable if you could provide your work as a Google Docs link, as it is more anonymous that way. An AO3 link will not disqualify your application but will create more work for the moderators (which we can handle, it's just not preferable if you can avoid it).

Hello, as an eager patron, I have an issue with your finance mod. I looked at their experience Carrd and neither do they have no zine finance experience, all the projects they've been in are not even in creation yet. How do I trust that they are reliable with finances? Hope you're able to clarify this matter, thanks!
Mod Matcha has real-life finance experience outside of zines helping run a small t-shirt printing company as well as budgeting for school projects. She is currently studying business with a specialization in finances in university. In the time we’ve worked with her she’s displayed the skills necessary to fulfil the position (spreadsheeting, budgeting, scouting for potential manus, etc).

In your Zine Info Doc, there is a point that states: “For artists, please remove your watermark so you can retain anonymity on your pieces.” Why does anonymity matter in regards to an application? I understand for the zine pieces themselves but why does this matter for our application examples?
We are doing a blind grading process! As to be fully unbiased, judging mods are being made completely unaware of the applicant’s identity, which is why anonymity is important.

Hello! Will genderswap (male!Amber) be allowed in the zine?
In this particular zine, AU won’t be allowed unless it’s minor canon divergences. Since genderswap Amber falls into the AU category, unfortunately it will not be allowed. We hope this answers your question!
