two asks on feixiao and jiaoqiu, haha. i cannot quite place it yet, but i think there is more to it than simply healing the general. not saying his love for her is a facade, but that there is definitely an ominous undertone to it. his interactions with her face to face seemed amicable, similar to feixiao and yukong. for ships, i prefer interactions with a bit more intensity simmering under the surface that refers some shared history, secrets, or just blatant horny flirtation. i have no doubt jiaoqiu wants feixiao to heal, but i have not yet pieced together it is solely because of feixiao herself that he is willing to take every risk. there are a lot of things feixiao is besides a general he is fond of and friendly with, such as a foxian with moon rage. as of now i am more interested in their sociopolitical dynamic as two foxians working against the borisin interested in things that (might) involve breaking the rigid rules of another faction they feel they're subordinates to

third death was already made possible by elio. everything we have seen the stellaron hunters participate in so far has happened exactly according to elio's script. in the luofu, kafka and blade did exactly what was expected of them, not giving in to distractions or as blade put it "temptation". in firefly's case she was actively searching for a different way to assure her life, showing her lack of complete trust in elio. i can parallel what firefly did with jade to what blade did with jingliu in jingliu's companion mission. both are searching for one thing, firefly life, blade death, and while they believe that acting out elio's scripts will lead to what they've been promised one day, they chase their goal outside of the scripts as well. again there is that disconnect between sparkle, jade, and firefly. after jade dealt with firefly, i truly believe the chapter of sharing prospects with the stonehearts was wrapped for the rest of the patch story. it was a deal firefly declined, even if it is implied she will return to it. firefly turning down jade seems to indicate they didn't talk about anything else. however sparkle's actions, though commissioned by silver wolf and centered around firefly, served jade very nicely? almost to her awareness? hell, sparkle and jade have voicelines for each other and jade and firefly don't? who else is sashaying their way into prison to free the talk of the town for their little pawn shop contract with robin while every single playable character is distracted searching for toy bombs and acting out a fuckass script?

/ sorry for the negative tone around the script. i really don't like how firefly's script was so full of blanks the only relevance of it remaining in the plot progression was that her repetitive, extremely unwilling chase for death would frighten her romantic interest aka the mc, into actually doing things. which the mc did not. the mc did not do things. they just got frightened. firefly chased jade to find out if she could live without having to die again and again in this pathetic script, was turned down and forced to accept the script with the changing scenery. she did not even make the decision to return to the script centering herself, she just had to. and by changing scenery i mean the bomb she chivalrously launched into the sky with being fake. all this is even more downplayed by the fact that 'you cannot die in penacony dreamscape' has already been proven VERY DRAMATICALLY by aventurine. what was the point. also who in the cast came to learn of her entropy loss syndrome and gave a fuck besides jade? did we get any narration, second thoughts, dissipating chivalry, any kind of indication as to how she might have felt when she had to take up on the route she had been challenging and disregarding for the entirety of the trailblaze mission? if her exchange with jade was so simply denied why does the description of the quest section read that 'the seed has been planted'? ugh

im so sorry im replying to asks eight months late, but hi <3 overall, unfortunately i did not enjoy fontaine and remember very little of the world quests. i was intrigued by the atmosphere of romanticism, european fairy tales, the attempted steampunk/eighteenth century sci fi in the quest that dealt with fontaine's energy problems (early on in the region i think) and remuria was absolutely gorgeous in all the ways i could've asked, but somehow a chord did not strike and i could only enjoy fontaine visually, for the most part. i did like all the members of the narzissenkreuz, and the elynas quest. i think i liked elynas quest most, and the concept of melusines having stemmed from its dead body. i love how naturally the dead dragons across tevyat fit into its geography. something about the rot of bodies and the injustice of their death in a vibrant game like genshin so languid and cheerful, where even their blood and bones are not mourned but celebrated. horrifying and sad in a very very pretty way

i think they revealed it a little late too... but it also feels coherent to make some repeating vivid ominous imagery a whole emblem of a fallen dynasty that makes its appearance less random throughout tevyat's history of doomed civilizations. i kept myself from talking about this because i read the book and i am confused as hell about multiple things, especially with the official channel's cutscene caption so obviously likening her to perinheri when 1) while it makes sense to believe only a child who wandered in would be made to perform the ritual, there is no such distinction made anywhere between children who wandered into the kingdom and the orphans of the kingdom, and the custom is described to be for all to be initiated into the house of the hearth 2) arlecchino has noble blood, balemoon bloodfire, which is also described as "cursed" making her thus clearly stated to be khaenri'ahn, while perinheri drifted into khaenri'ah. him not being khaenri'ahn is what makes him the survivor and able to reap the rewards of hleobrant's sowing (quest for angelica's love, possible metaphor for freedom) 3) the only thing perinheri and arlecchino can be confirmed to have in common is literally the sighting of a crimson moon. any other takeaways is lorecrafting for now and must be taken with a pinch of salt. it may be that the walk through the chimney and the traversing of fire of two worlds is an allegory for her being the crimson moon dynasty's sole survivor- crossing the netherworld and seeing the sun for the first time, in which case perinheri isn't the likening to arlecchino as an individual but that of every successive generation of her dynasty? even so it sounds like a stretch. there is so little we can confirm about the khaenri'ahn curse in the first place much less how it affects her personally. pre perinheri we could point at the cataclysm and say this is when the khaenri'ahns first fucked up but now that there are two different dynasties, the previous implied to be seeking revenge on the latter, a distinction between the two curses, one that affected pure-blooded khaenri'ahns (eclipse dynasty) imposed during the cataclysm and one that affected other khaenri'ahns differently, the latter existing long before the cataclysm for every resident of the kingdom who "forsook their god", it is safe to say we know absolutely nothing about how the crimson moon dynasty was cursed specifically
