usually with pasta water i use it to thicken sauces and stuff since there’s starch in the water, but for oil it depends on what i’m making

with steaks and other meats i can usually use it to make a pan sauce with the leftover grease and drippings, but otherwise i just throw it out (responsibly)

i would say that bratsche’s not really a sore loser at all? she tends to have the philosophy of “whatever happens, happens” no matter the cause
