I keep thinking about VI Dazai's mother. Idk if you would be able to share more about her pregnancy with Dazai. Did she want him but was forced to give him up and it was just too painful to think about so she blocked it out? Was she in such a bad situation she was relived to have this unwanted baby taken off her hands? Did Mori promise to give her son a better life so she gave him the her baby willingly despite loving him? I know it's not super relevant to VI's plot i'm interested in Dazai's backstory!!
Dazai's mom was a prostitute. She didn't have a choice, she was carrying the Port Mafia heir - back then they didn't know Fyodor existed yet. Then, right before Dazai was born, his father shot himself in the head, and Mori had to take care of the whole mess of the organization falling without a leadership. Taking Dazai in right away wasn't possible, he had to wait for things to settle, and turn the Port Mafia in what is in present VI, so it took almost a year for Mori to take him from the orphanage (and meanwhile, they found out Fyodor existed and made sure he was put in the same orphanage) Dazai will tell all of this to Chuuya one day.
