I'm surprised OMMM skk aren't married! Is there any lore behind the social structure of marriage vs mates in a/b/o or in OMMM omegaverse? Like is mating seen as equivalent to marriage? Also can betas have mating bonds like bite an omega and bond to them or get bitten by an alpha ?
I just explained why in my previous answer! But no, there isn't any particular structure for that. Mating is being connected with another person physically, and it does create a much stronger bond (in fact, that's what it's called). For me, mates do register their bond because of medical records, so there is trace of that when consensual. But marriage makes it legal and official on a financial level, mostly, almost in my universe.
Betas can be bitten into a bond, still in my universe, but it's more symbolic than factual, as beta's biology doesn't react to alphas how omegas do. And omega's bites have no effect whatsoever on anyone - in fact, that especially is symbolic between mates because it leaves a mark, a scar, but it's not necessary for the bond in the general omegaverse.
