When did Cin first get his trusty slingshot? Does he go through them often or does he keep them around for long periods of time?
Cin's slingshot was a gift from Papa Pig for his tenth birthday! He'd always send cool little trinkets and toys back home, but to Cin, this was the coolest. Cin used it to scare off seagulls and giant crabs when he was working on fishing boats, and he'd occasionally load it with mudballs and pester visiting soldiers.
It didn't always have the spike at the end; Cin's grandma added that when he went to visit her before he set out on his grand adventure. Aside from its obvious uses, it comes in real handy when shucking clams, and when carving good-luck sigils into his ship's mast every time he sets sail.
Cin takes real good care of his slingshots. Every couple of weeks, the band needs to be replaced, and the pouch occasionally needs repairs. But, for the most part, Cin intends on keeping his slingshots for life! He has a collection of six right now; four of them are mundane, but two are magical weapons he found during his questing. One is a metallic tuning fork; it turns into a proper slingshot when it's held, and fires little balls of light that make funny sounds as they leave the 'pouch'. Even when blocked or deflected, these projectiles still deal a little damage! The other is an ivory slingshot, apparently made from the wishbone of a cockatrice. It can't turn enemies to stone, but it does daze them when it hits hard enough. There's scrimshaw all over the handle that tells a story (presumably about the cockatrice), but nobody's been able to decipher the writing yet!
Would Cin dress up in a suit for a date? :3c
VERY begrudgingly! Cin hates getting all fancy - the most he'll do is put on an old captain's hat, maybe some shiny bracelets and all. If his date really wants him to, he'll try to squeeze into a suit; he'll be a little grumpy about it, but he'll try and hide it. He doesn't want his date to feel bad! Just expect the suit's buttons to fly off halfway through dinner, and his belly to bounce free~
He'd definitely take a nice bath beforehand, though. He loooves getting all squeaky clean, especially if there's bubbles! 8D
Has Cin ever been stranded on an island?
Yes, he has - twice, in fact! The first time, he was actually marooned by the captain of his ship. He survived for a few weeks thanks in part to his hardiness... but mostly, thanks to supplies that washed up on shore after his captain's ship got caught on a reef nearby. He was rescued when Osca's naval vessel came by and spotted the boat!
The second time, he and his friends from the eastern half of the world were sailing across the ocean when they got caught in a particularly fierce storm (The open seas of Vensalút are plagued with them) and washed up on a large, nameless island with an unnaturally deep lagoon in the centre. Curious, Abas brewed them all some water-breathing potions (after a LOT of trial and error with local and salvaged ingredients), and they dove inside to explore... until the water started pulling them forcefully down! One chaotic waterslide later, and they all splashed down into one of the Azure Hells, which are large seas in the underworld. They hitched a ride on a big, friendly sea-monster to some desolate town ruins, where they were given a big ol' lore overload by an old, wizened demon-sage.
