We know a little bit about papa Dante already. Namely that he hated war and that his wife often praised him for his “kind heart”.

So, I figure he did at least experience what war was like, maybe under his father’s rule (or maybe another way since we don’t know if married into the Sun Lord family or not). And I’m sure he was well trained, but maybe he didn’t fight that many battles himself if that makes sense.

I picture him being a laid-back man, well groomed and dressed without it being gaudy, with poise and a calming aura. Hardworking and dedicated yes, but ultimately unwilling to make the hard decisions needed to keep his people from facing starvation, which sealed his fate.

I think he loved Dante very much, not just as his heir and the continuation of a very important bloodline, but truly as his beloved son he would go to great lengths to help. I actually think Dante’s mom did a lot of the daily discipline when it came to Dante trying to overexert himself, and his dad was more hands off in that regard, focusing on work more instead.

I want Dante to take more after his mom physically. She had beautiful braided red hair, just like him, and there is no denying how pretty the Sun Lord is. So, I want his dad to have dark hair, to make it extremely clear that the red hair is from his mom. And I also want him to have a beard, for no particular reason haha.

No distinctive v-shape on him either. I like the idea of Dante being juiced up by his markings (which are concentrated on his upper half), so it wouldn’t be genetic. Plus, I think Dante’s dad let himself go a bit towards the end of his life (around his mid 30s I’d say) since things weren’t going well in Solaria. His routine may have been more hectic, or he simply got too comfortable.

Oh and finally, I want him to have been gulping down the “I love my wife” juice until he drew his very last breath. I love the idea of Dante’s parents being incredibly in love with each other, even if their relationship started out as an arranged marriage (which is also my hc and not confirmed).

Dante probably expected things to go that way for him as well but ... love works in mysterious ways, doesn't it :3
