We know a little bit about papa Dante already. Namely that he hated war and that his wife often praised him for his “kind heart”.

So, I figure he did at least experience what war was like, maybe under his father’s rule (or maybe another way since we don’t know if married into the Sun Lord family or not). And I’m sure he was well trained, but maybe he didn’t fight that many battles himself if that makes sense.

I picture him being a laid-back man, well groomed and dressed without it being gaudy, with poise and a calming aura. Hardworking and dedicated yes, but ultimately unwilling to make the hard decisions needed to keep his people from facing starvation, which sealed his fate.

I think he loved Dante very much, not just as his heir and the continuation of a very important bloodline, but truly as his beloved son he would go to great lengths to help. I actually think Dante’s mom did a lot of the daily discipline when it came to Dante trying to overexert himself, and his dad was more hands off in that regard, focusing on work more instead.

I want Dante to take more after his mom physically. She had beautiful braided red hair, just like him, and there is no denying how pretty the Sun Lord is. So, I want his dad to have dark hair, to make it extremely clear that the red hair is from his mom. And I also want him to have a beard, for no particular reason haha.

No distinctive v-shape on him either. I like the idea of Dante being juiced up by his markings (which are concentrated on his upper half), so it wouldn’t be genetic. Plus, I think Dante’s dad let himself go a bit towards the end of his life (around his mid 30s I’d say) since things weren’t going well in Solaria. His routine may have been more hectic, or he simply got too comfortable.

Oh and finally, I want him to have been gulping down the “I love my wife” juice until he drew his very last breath. I love the idea of Dante’s parents being incredibly in love with each other, even if their relationship started out as an arranged marriage (which is also my hc and not confirmed).

Dante probably expected things to go that way for him as well but ... love works in mysterious ways, doesn't it :3

Oh Momo, since it’s late for you, I’m sure Eiden will forgive you for forgetting the full name of the glorious Gale-Wing Tornado Victor…which I definitely did not look up before answering you ; ) .

I reread the first part of the event, and it seems Garu and Eiden rode over with their own horses. I assume Eiden got him from Aster and maybe took a few lessons since Sunburst Fever? He said he had recently started horse riding during that event.

That being said, Eiden and Dante noticing that their horses get along really well so Eiden comes over on Gale (instead of a carriage) for horsie play dates, under the cover of horse-riding lessons and horse training? Yes. Dante would insist it is a very serious and important exercise, Eiden would tell him to lighten up, since it can be both! The horses get their play date and they can also go on a date <3 (just to tease him).
Dante would still have them train really hard…when they take a break, Eiden would thank him, even if he’s exhausted and sore and hurting everywhere now. Dante would be all tsun about it, of course (this is only the very basics, it’s baffling that you made it this long in this world without even knowing how to ride a horse, etc.). But, I just thought, what if this leads to them taking a long hot bath to soothe their sore muscles, eh, eh? In Dante’s giant private bath, which I assume he has haha. Obviously has a happy ending, except for the fact that Eiden ends up feeling even more sore…worth it though :33

Until recently, I would have been tempted to say no. But during the conversation he had at the start of Journey to a NU World, I actually think Dante was looking for a collar for Sooley! It's not confirmed or anything, it's just a hunch. Blade mentioned spikes too and I could see Dante agreeing with him, but his reason would be that a spiked collar could keep Sooley safer while he hunts in the desert (and not that the collar needs to be spikey like him, omg. Blade PLEASE).

So overall, I think Dante doesn't have outfits for Sooley but he could have accessories that serve a specific purpose.

For instance, @t_torry drew Sooley in a little raincoat once and it was so freaking cute ;; I can see that happening, I see the vision.

Exceptions would be accessories for special occasions (like a wedding maybe 👀 ? A corsage on a collar~).

Your question made me think that I'd like to see Eiden try to sneak a ribbon on Sooley, but he's still too scared of the leoger to pull it off. Dante could walk in, confiscate the offending ribbon and ask Eiden to leave. He'd grumble about Eiden not showing Sooley the respect he's due... until he wonders what could possibly be the appeal. Curiosity gets the better of him.
Sooley doesn't flinch when Dante ties the ribbon around his neck. He just stares at his master blankly. And, just for a few seconds, Dante gets it. He really, really does.
But he shouldn't give into the temptation of treating his powerful, well-trained pet like a common house cat, as adorable as he may be.
He immediately unties the ribbon and swears to never do it again.

It’s funny, for another thing, I’ve also thought of the logistics of Dante having a library Blade could go to (either in his palace/villa or in Solaria).
Dante could make an exception and allow him to borrow books despite not being a citizen, just so he can carry piles of books back to his room or Dante’s guest lounge without bothering the other patrons in the library. The fact that Blade is much happier when they can read together is just a coincidence 😌.

That’s a really cute backstory you wrote for them. It’s very in character for Blade too 🥰
I’m picturing them in Dante’s lounge after a long day of work. Dante was just trying to smoke and relax with a book of his own when Blade walks in with a big pile of books and many, many questions.

For sports, considering how horny the entire Kleinster kingdom is… it has to be something homoerotic with a lot of emphasis on the male form… like a Klein version of Turkish oil wrestling maybe? 👀 That would be hard to understand just from reading about it too. Dante could talk of the unique bond formed between training warriors while Blade thinks about how shiny people would be. So cute! And the slippery part sounds fun! The mission-oriented side of Blade would think about how much harder it would be to capture an oiled up target… but he doesn’t have to think about that anymore. He'd love to try it out once with darling and his friends!

In a book about Fire Territory traditions, Blade could ask him about a drawing of baskets of fruit under a stylized sun. What does it mean?
I remember Dante mentioning his parents would make offerings to the Sun in his first birthday letter. It could be on a special day held yearly as a harvest holiday, to thank the Sun for looking out for them/the crops. Blade already has an understanding of what the God of Klein is (and seems to believe in him) so I think he could get on board with the concept. Dante would mention he still thinks it’s not a good use of resources but he understands how meaningful traditions are for some people. That makes things more confusing for Blade though. So it’s real but it’s not real? Won't the Sun get sad if no one thanks it? 🥺 Blade could totally thank the Sun himself the next day, by bringing a little something at an altar, waving at the sky, saying thank you for taking care of Lord Jackass and Solaria :')

Next, I can see Blade asking about an elaborate costume he sees a child wear in a book. In the drawing it’s so big, it’s swallowing the kid up. Dante could explain those clothes are traditional wear for a Solarian coming of age ceremony. They could be either individual ceremonies held on the child’s birthday or a single ceremony held for all the children reaching adulthood that year.

In Solaria, the age of majority is only 15. The wording (from Dante’s SR) is a little vague but that’s the gist of it. Since that’s so young, an event to mark that and make it official could be beneficial and help the kids understand how serious this is. They could also be given a blade for the occasion (a bit like Dante’s dagger gift, but it’s also a practical item).
Blade would be surprised since according to his other readings, small humans haven’t reached their peak condition yet at 15, their brains are still so undeveloped…
That could stir up some bad memories for Dante but I could see him agreeing to show Blade his own old outfit, more elaborate than most people’s due to his status. One of the last meaningful memories he has of his parents… (I hc that he was around 15 when the riot happened, since the game dropped the number 15 and Dante took over directly after coming back from getting his markings, without someone else in charge until he came of age or anything.)

On the lighter side, Blade would love to learn about Solarian/Fire Territory dances and songs 🥰 Dante would’ve learned them from his parents, tutors and observation but since he grew up very sheltered, he's rarely had anyone to share this part of his culture with… until now! Dante is a quick study, I'm sure he'd be good too. At first Dante would be reluctant to show him but watching Blade get it wrong would compel Dante to correct him. The Sun Lord wouldn’t directly admit to Blade that he had fun but that night but… he can think of worse ways to spend an evening 🤭

Another EiEd banger from Momo. I picked this one in particular because when I read it, I just had to pause sometimes, to take it all in and be wowed by how she painted the visuals and set the mood. And that word choice... it made me think that I still have a long way to go as a writer haha.

• Safe with you by kingtopyakumo

This is a great example of what I meant when I mentioned what I like about fanfiction. We’re talking a non-canon pairing (YakuQuin), switching and how another character could’ve lived through a canon event PLUS... it’s really hot and it’s all in character (in my opinion). Loved it.

• The "something borrowed" series by museaway

It’s Daster. BUT WAIT, WAIT HEAR ME OUT!! It’s not just a one-shot, it’s multiple chapters about their relationship AND so many extras and additions, all penned by someone who writes them so well. Each new "something" makes me so happy. And I love how Muse handles their dialogue... even if you’re not sure, check it out! You might be pleasantly surprised~

-Just a taste... by Yuutfa

This is a modern AU YakuEi fic! The setting is fleshed out so well, you can really see how much care and love went into it. I loved watching their relationship progress in this specific setting and also how Rin was included and handled.

Worth To Venture by isamijoo

Soooo... this one is a one-shot Dante/Eiden/Edmond threesome. I like the idea of Eiden basically coaching his clan members through threesomes and some of the Dante lines had me shouting lol. It’s good sexy food is all I’ll say, check it out if that sounds fun to you~

Finally, I still think fondly of Flowers on you and I wanted to recommend it to you anon but... I think it’s gone from AO3, I’m afraid. But if you’ve read it, you know what I mean :’)

As I said above, I would like to read more fics this year (I already have a long "Marked for later" list I need to check more often) so if you or anyone reading this has any recs for me, feel free to shoot them my way <3

Hmm let’s start with the negatives here so we can end on a positive note :)

My most obvious pet peeve: lore mistakes, especially when I’m confident that a mistake has been made. They tend to take me out of the story, so I have to focus again before going back in. That being said, just because there are mistakes in a fic doesn’t mean that it’s trash and that I’m going to stop reading. Most of the time, I can still enjoy what the author is trying to convey and see that they love the characters, and that’s more important to me than knowing that Solaria is a city and that it's several times smaller than the Royal Capital/Royal City (both terms have been used in-game to talk about the same place, another fun fact) 🤓.

Second pet peeve would be out of character moments, UNLESS I know this is what I’m signing up for. As in, I used to read fics from an author who would apply certain tropes to the characters that just wasn’t them at the end of the day. But they wrote well and the story was interesting so I kept reading. Most of the time though, if I end up thinking “I don’t think he would say that…” then it’s a bit disappointing. But I get it, characterization is hard; sometimes I reread my own fics and I’m not happy with some of the lines anymore :’D

Now for two(ish) things I do like!

The first thing I love that comes to mind is when the author shows that they really get the character they’re writing about. Doing something that is just so THEM and that not everybody would think about. It’s such a flex lol. I love being surprised in a good way when I read fics.
In the same vein, when a character makes a surprising yet incredibly sexy move and I’m just gagged? LOVE that. Even better when I’m in public and I have to keep my face from contorting.

Also also! I looooooove when authors write stories taking place in the canon universe… but it goes to places canon would never go while still having good characterization! THAT is such a big appeal of fanfiction to me. We’re talking switching, non-canon pairings, unexplored kinks, NPCs getting their flowers, lore extrapolation/deep dives and the juiciest hypothetical ways canon could’ve gone but didn’t. Love that to bits. Now, that’s not to say I see those things as “correcting” canon though. It’s just nice, fun exploration that gets my imagination going :)

Oohh Velo I’m so glad you asked because I’ve been thinking about it ever since you sent it and it’s delicious brain food.
This got a bit long, but I don’t think you’ll mind : 3

It’s so… there are so many ways this could go, right? But let’s say that in this one, they’ve been living together for a few months and this is Dante’s first long trip since Eiden moved in. Eiden looked a little sad to see him go… but Dante is built different, he has a job to do, a purpose, he can’t be thinking about that man all day. How pathetic would that be? Dante is only thinking of him on the way there because he’s entrusted Sooley in his care, that’s not the same. And he lets him know he got there safely only so he doesn't have to recall his worried expression anymore. How troublesome.

Eiden is the one who initiates their text exchanges. Since they live together, they don't text much but, just like they acclimated to their current living arrangement without too much trouble, they quickly settle in their new routine without having to talk about it: Eiden sends him a good morning text, then random pictures throughout the day, to which Dante replies with a few words, then they do a quick call before bed.

I’m picturing Eiden sending a pic of Sooley sleeping under their bed covers, just a round shape protruding from under the sheets.

Eiden: He’s sleeping on your side of the bed too 🥺
Dante: …Why would he do that?
Eiden: Because he misses you! Your scent is the strongest there.
Dante: Stop smelling our sheets.
Eiden: Wha—?! I don’t need to smell them to know that!!

And this exchange plants this idea in Dante’s mind that when he’s not around, he is missed. And not only in a way that’s expressed through simple words typed absentmindedly on a bright screen. It’s also physical.
The thought lingers on his mind all day. He gets shivers when he hears Eiden’s voice that night. He’s half-listening through Eiden telling him about something funny that happened at work that day when he asks Eiden to turn on his camera too. He gets shivers when he sees that bright smile on the screen.
Eiden, of course, gets very inquisitive about his sudden request. Dante brushes him off, explains he just wanted to test something. Eiden knows he’s not being entirely honest but that’s ok, he’s used to slowly prying little pieces of truth out of him.
Their text exchanges start to change.
Eiden is flirtier, more upfront about missing Dante. During his lunch break, Dante sees that Eiden sent him a picture while he was in a meeting. He quickly opens it, expecting to see Sooley… instead, he almost chokes on his salad. He reprimands Eiden right away who laughs it off. It's just a little treat to keep him going until their call that night~
Dante is scandalized, of course.
…
…
…
SO ANYWAYS, THAT NIGHT.

Dante only agrees to a voice call, which Eiden doesn’t mind; he can work with that. He tells Dante how about he’s half naked under the sheets on his side of the bed; as it turns out, it does still smell like him. It’s like Dante is here next to him but not really. There is still so much that’s missing, that he’s been missing, and Eiden tells him in excruciating detail while Dante listens lying down in his own bed, phone resting on the pillow so his hands are free. After, Eiden explains that usually, since Dante has a tendency to pin him down and fuck him so hard he can’t keep quiet, he never gets to hear Dante’s voice properly. So tonight, having his deep voice, his laboured breath right next to his ear... it was nice.

Eiden would keep sending saucy pics once in a while, never when Dante expects them. They’d escalate to video calls soon after. Eiden being Eiden, he would absolutely prepare some toys for the occasion, including an oddly familiar looking dildo. Dante doesn’t want to know how Eiden got his measurements so right, down to how the veins trail along his shaft. But there is something he must know.

Dante: …Why is it purple?
Eiden: I didn’t want you to think I was actually replacing you 🥺
Dante: (What kind of logic is that...?)

You can work out how it went from there 😁 When Dante comes back from his trip, they make up for lost time. And do the laundry.

Eiden, of course, would think Dante is very handsome as usual, but this outfit also brings out his natural elegance and poise. There is something about both of his hands being busy (with the cane and wine glass) that makes him extra vulnerable, perfect for teasing <3. And that scarf… I think Eiden would want to grab it and pull Dante down, bringing their faces real close. And if I may be bold and treat myself a little: maybe even steal a kiss when no one else is looking, perhaps after a few glasses of wine :3
With his usual eye for design, Eiden’s gaze would glide down the long length of cloth, taking in the details of the outfit but also thinking about how long Dante’s legs are. Dante would reprimand him for staring for so long but his eyes are a bit… busy at the moment. Maybe later ; )

Hello hello anon! I touched a bit on this in another ask but when you mentioned “with what characters” I got really excited. “Ah, yes, the non-Dante dudes, the others dudes. Let’s get them in there too.” Really got the yaoi neurons working.

(Mandatory “I haven’t watched every single h-scene disclaimer” here, unfortunately 😔 But hey, if we did get one of those things and I missed it, someone might tell me and make my day 😂)

So, without further ado and in no particular order:

• Not a specific kink but: a spreader baaaaaar! 💕 There is something so sexy about a hot guy embarrassed about being spread like that, twitching, trying to close his legs reflexively but. He. CAN’T. 💦

Also, idk if it has a name but I want Blade to straight up fuck Eiden’s armpitussy. He got soooo embarrassed during their first h-scene when Blade started licking there, I want to see that taken to another level.

Finally, I’d like the tops to be teased with a little more. How about some edging, with a cock ring maybe? I don’t just mean « woopsie, time to suddenly end the room while you’re still hard! » I mean « oh, you’ll be coming, but not before I say so. And if you do, I’ll have to think of… consequences to pay ». Actually, that kinda sounds like a Dante line? See anon, the first thing that comes to mind is… anything!

I could see them arguing about most things, sometimes in a more lighthearted way, sometimes not, which is part of their charm as a pairing. They can stand to learn a lot from each other and to see the world through the other’s eyes, see where they’re coming from and either change or agree to disagree. That’s interesting to me. And also it makes for some very funny and cute moments haha.

But since I don’t want to leave you hanging, here is a little list I thought up for you.

—The weather. Yes, really. Dante isn’t used to small talk nor having weather like, in general, so this is bound to be both confusing and hilarious. Might write a whole thing up eventually (it was getting a bit long for this reply).

—Literally how they should walk down a street, apparently (love that home screen interaction to bits). So, extrapolating from that: how they interact physically in normal, everyday situations, even just the uneven pace of their steps when they walk around.
Something like:
“Hey Dante, slow down, I can’t keep up!”
“Tch, my pace isn’t that brisk; you just enjoy being slow.”
“Right, we don’t get to walk around together like that often, so I want to take my time. Is that so wrong?”
"... So you were intent on wasting my time from the start? Hmph, as a reminder, I only agreed to accompany you on this shopping expedition as a favour to the serpent after last night’s meal. But I should have figured you’d do anything to weasel your way out of a busy schedule.”

…and then it turns into a conversation about Eiden’s past as an overworked corporate drone. The ideas just start to flow once you get into it, really. The power of DanEi :3

—Shopping (brands, quality/quantity, how much to spend, etc.)

-A gift idea for a common friend (practical vs. fun/thoughtful)

—Giving advice to others, either what constitutes the best advice or if it’s best to give no advice at all.
There is value in doing things yourself and not relying on others too much. But Dante may not realize how expecting others to be as independent as him would not be realistic for them. It might not seem very mundane but it could pop up very naturally during a conversation.

—Food and cooking, especially if they cooked together. Dante would definitely take it way too seriously but he has no experience and Eiden doesn’t seem very good at cooking either, although he could have improved since the cream stew incident.

—The proper way to stretch or exercise, which could easily lead to sexy times, after a little Eiden-typical teasing.

—(Eventually, and I’m being a little sappy here but please indulge me) Nicknames for each other, a step up from Dante’s good old “kimi to iu yatsu ha”, which is very long lol.
Will we see the great return of Dandy? (Dante: Absolutely not.) Will Dante start calling Eiden by, gasp, his name more often? (Eiden: You’ve been calling me “You” for so long, hearing that now, it’s like my own name has become a nickname somehow…)

Hey anon! This one has been waiting for a while, I know, but I swear I had a good reason: I wanted to see what themes we would get for our next events! We already knew what would come up in Blood Key at the time and I had a feeling I may get answers if I waited a little more. And also, I’ve just been very busy. Advent calendar, birthday porn, irl things. Busy busy bun.

So, without further ado…

What I’d like to see in h-rooms, with 2 disclaimers:
1. I haven’t watched every scene, so we might have gotten some of those and I haven’t heard about it.

1. With the limited animation in the h-scenes currently, most of these won’t be happening any time soon but we can always hope!

2. A longer, intricate bdsm scene

3. A shibari scene where they actually tie each knot

4. A scene where they use a variety of toys for overstimulation

5. A full body worship scene

6. A spreader bar. This one is more likely.

…Oh, and also non-familiar threesomes and DP. But that’s not happening either, and not because of animation reasons lol. I would LOVE to be wrong, though.

For the themes, we actually just got two of the things I’ve wanted to see for months: how Garu would deal with the idea of Karu disappearing and Edmond using magic (and especially in a situation where he had to in order to save Eiden)! I liked how Karu was handled too. I didn’t expect Karu to be so core to Garu’s being he could manifest as part of his essence. I’m excited to see where that information will take us, moving forward.

Hmm? Those weren’t Dante-related? I know I’m a bit of a Dante specialist and all but I think about the others too, I swear :’D As for what I’d like to see moving forward…

1. More of the possibility of Eiden going home by force, please. A situation where he’s just given the choice wouldn’t be very interesting, we all know he wants to stay at this point. I want that ANGST. I want him to hesitate before regulating the last altar because he doesn’t want to go. I want some clan members to want to stop him when they understand what could happen. I want to see it.

2. Dante being ill or physically indisposed for a while. For the trauma, for the backstory about overcoming his weakness, for him to really understand and appreciate he’s not alone anymore. Nods nods. This could be an interesting setup for a Yakumo/Dante event, where we all expect Dante to be in charge but Yakumo has to step up his snakeussy and save the day (with a tie to his role as a descendant of the great serpent too, perhaps).

3. More of the Huey backstories for OG clan members and the original contracts in general. For instance, what did Olivine’s ancestor gain from his contract, back in the day? Did he understand it would apply to some of his descendants going forward? What were the terms? etc. Early on, Yakumo mentioned that when his contract would end, he might lose his hearing in the ear with his gem, isn’t that kinda scary to think about? Some tasty lore bits to sink my teeth into.

4. I’d like to see more of the clan members interact and bond (and on a deeper level if possible). We have a few interesting recurring dynamics going on, like Blade/Dante and Yakumo/Garu but I want more. Olivine feels like a good candidate for something new. He didn’t interact a lot with his event buddies this year (yakumo and dante) in my opinion, although that may be due to the heavy plots and darker themes his events had + his more reserved demeanour (which doesn’t mean he’s boring btw!) Maybe something soft and comforting with Edmond? Regular teatime bonding over sweets? I actually started a wip about that, ages ago, Olivine even baked some cookies. Maybe I should revisit it.

5. Last one: once the Eiden staying or not situation is resolved, I’d like to see some musings about the future and the different expectations people have of our clan members. Right now, everything is very “live in the moment and don’t worry”, which isn’t bad in itself! That’s actually good. But I’d like the current situation to be a bit more grounded. For instance, Dante is the last member of a bloodline who has the unique power to regulate an altar without the Grand Sorcerer. But Dante is falling for Eiden, who is a man.......... dot dot dot. Is he okay with being the last one able to do that? Should he still consider marriage further down the road? Should the clan look for ways to get rid of altars altogether and "free" the clan members without breaking their contracts? Even if the answer is “our current situation is fine”, I’d like for the characters to be shown thinking about it and looking for solutions together when needed.

He likes to hype up his great bod and to use battle/hunting vocabulary casually. So, keeping that in mind, just for you anon, here are some others I came up with. Would he say them out loud? Unsure. Would he think them up? Still not sure, but more likely. Adjectives are not mandatory, they depend on how embarrassing he’s being lol.

I mean, I'm being very normal about this.
You see, a big appeal of tsundere cat boys (so Dante as a cat boy) is the idea that their ears and tail can absolutely betray how they actually feel. They can also amplify how cute they are when they're flustered (like, their ears flattening on their head and their tail wagging around) or kinda soften the mood when they get mad (with their ears standing up and their poofy tails, claws and fangs out). EnEi being such a passionate pairing would mean every interaction would be amplified by their cat features and I love that for them.

Eiden reading Dante like an open book with a smug grin. Them falling asleep together with their tails tangled up. Dante getting SO turned on when Eiden starts to purr against him.

Could you imagine the massage h-scene, with Dante purring despite himself under Eiden's touch?

Their canon biting? How animalistic the sex would get? Even more cat/leoger imagery in Solaria?
