• (South) Vietnamese; mother language but i eventually lost fluency at YR 1, cannot read or write but can somewhat understand or speak it (well, enough to notice if my parents are talking smack during family events LMAO) bilingual more like bye-lingual 😭
• a family friend once asked how old i was and i replied “5 years old” when i was 15
• Japanese; school taught, arguably more fluent in every way

if there was one i’d love to be fluent in, it’s Sign Language !!! :] my high school only offered Japanese, then Mandarin by the time i graduated but i like to think people would be more interested in sign language
