Curious student who took French here; is it awkward or really obvious when someone’s speaking either through a translator or is just inexperienced? Not in a mean way, just a “yeah it’s obvious this is off lol”
Sadly, yeah, you can very easily tell for one reason, french sentences usually have a lot more details than English. But it's okay, usually we can understand you and we don't take it as a negative thing.
The best exemple I can find is in English, you'd say "What's this ?"
In french you'd say "Qu'est-ce que c'est que ça ?"
Which roughly translates to "What's this that this that this thing ?" Lmao
