How would you describe your writing process?
It starts with a theme or scene I want to explore. Then I'll write a summary of the story I've crafted to get what I want. It’s easier to do it at the beginning and it also helps solidify where I want to go.
After the summary, I'll start outlining, specifying what the beginning, middle, and end should incorporate (and a chapter by chapter outline for multichapter fics). I'll usually put all my notes and research in the same doc to reference unless there's just too much. If it's a more complex, longer story, sometimes I'll track days/times.
Once that's done, I'll start writing, deleting what I accomplish from the outline once it's in the draft. Kinda like a to-do list, but I can add whatever I want in-between as long as I get through the outline. Create rough draft. If I have to start and stop, I'll write a little basic reminder of what I was thinking would come next to help me get back into the story more easily.
I edit as I go, but I'll do a final read/edit before publishing. Usually I'll wait a day after completing the first draft before I do that to let everything settle.
Sorry for the long answer! Hopefully that's what you wanted 😅💕
