How would you best advise someone who does traditional art (mostly just pencil / pen sketching) to get into the digital space? I find it immensely difficult to translate skills over to digital! Thanks!

Starting small is the best, I recommend getting a tablet secondhand go see if digital drawing is even something you’d prefer to have in your toolset.

it’s essential you make the transition as easy as possible for yourself, use brushes that emulate charcoals or pastels, whatever is familiar to you. Start with very soft strokes, you’ll be surprised how your control differs from what your use to, but in time and with practice you’ll find it strengthens your hand eye coordination.

I’d argue the most important thing is to set your expectations low, your first digital drawings are unlikely to turn out well,, use this time to your advantage, have fun with drawing in simplicity for awhile, before you know it you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how clean your drawings begin to look.
