Yes i am. Variety is the spice of life and I enjoy exploring relationship dynamics with as many characters as possible. I can get having a preference for monoshipping certain pairings or not liking xyz pairings, but a lot of sole monoshippers are really intense and aggressive which I don’t vibe with. They’re fictional characters, it’s not that serious lol.
As for multishipping my 2 favs, I like multi shipping Furina the most. I enjoy Furinde a lot (their relationship is really sweet, but I also like the interpretation that they were a fling while Furina was trying to find herself) and Eifuri is a guilty pleasure of mine (shoving my favs together and they look like my og yuri pairing zakumint). Those are just my favs and not limited to only them though. She’s so fun to pair with a bunch of people.
Neuvillette is a bit harder for me to multiship because he’s very demiromantic in my mind. Like It’d have to be with someone he’s known for a long time, and probably a non-Fontainian as to not threaten his impartiality. Neuvili has potential, but I like it in a flavor most people don’t. I don’t want them to be sweet to each other. I need them to rip each other’s throats out and show the prideful and destructive sides of themselves we don’t see much. I also have a rare pair for Neuvi, but I fear people would call me insane if I said it out loud.

I joined Retrospring and was taken by surprise, I discovered that next year it will cease to exist? I remember that post about how fandom approaches male characters with Watsonian perspective and female characters with Doylist perspective. Male characters are always thought to have hidden depths and motivations while female characters are taken at face value and reduced to one word. Genshin fandom being younger than average doesn't help either.
I also don't think a character like Furina can thrive in a gacha.
The sheer amount of characters in gachas doesn’t help either. Screen time is a limited resource, and people are only going to take the time to really examine characters that they like. Others get reduced to one or two traits or interests. Since female character are already usually taken at face value PLUS the fact that there are a ton more women in gacha games, it means they’re stuck with the worst of it. So yeah, it does make it hard for a character who requires a lot of deeper understanding like Furina to be properly seen.

Imma be honest here but we need to have a conversation about how fandom doesn't really give a shit about queer people, from their behavior it's clear this is really just ship wars. Like if you cared about homophobia and the wellbeing of queer people in fandom you'd dunk on the people being homophobic, NOT harass lesbians on the basis of ships. I never bought into fandom activism, especially since certain people love to claim they are the gayest folks ever because they ship two men only to hop on that Choo Choo Lesbophobic Express Train everytime a sapphic tries to discuss misogyny and male bias in fandom and the lack of yuri content.
I wish people just stopped pretending they care about queers in fandom because they don't and it becomes obvious every day. Safe space for queer people means safe space for gay people shipping shit you don't like.

I mean, period. That sums up a lot of hoyo fandom behavior. You can act like an activist all day by defending fictional gay characters online and fighting 50 follower homophobic burners, but as soon as I the same people policing and harassing real queer people about their queerness it’s so obvious it was never about defending representation or activism. It was about trying look morally superior for putting down something you don’t like and discouraging queer people from enjoying it. And as always, sapphics will bear the brunt of it until the ground grows carpet.

I am actually surprised how much misogyny gets a pass in this fandom as if misogyny didn't also contribute to the rampant lesbophobia and the mlm/male bias 🥲
I’m honestly a mixed of shocked and not shocked. Misogyny, lesbiphobia, and male preference have always been baked into fandom spaces, just as things like racism have. It was a bit of a rude awaking when I made this account and saw that things really hadn’t changed that much, but those things are still taught and ingrained at an institutional level so it does make sense. It’s crazy how little progress has been made with some discussions tho.

AFHDJSKLAH i laughed so hard i cried at «wth is a kinnie» i was 1000% unserious about it for the joke, but kinnie is someone who intensely/deeply identifies with a character (sometimes an unhealthy amount)
