not au and not sungbri related this time so idk if this rant is welcome haha it's okay not to answer or publish if you find this off! but i was looking at older solo stuff of the members and got a bit salty seeing how little views some of the content had like yonk's documentaries ? idk what to call it but the hexagon thing. tbh im kinda embarrassed to be feeling salty because im not one to care about views and i know as a fandom we dont either and i dont even really watch things to add to views but idk maybe im just salty in general today hahaha i just remember how we as a fandom usually excitedly ask him for content and i just noticed now how the episodes only have like 15-30k views. :((( that's like one city stop but im also aware of course that consuming content should be based on what we want to and enjoy so rationally speaking i know im just being salty for nothing. hahahaha anyway just wanted to rant im sorry for bringing this weird take to your retro lol im a embarrassed to tweet it on main so it's ok if you just ignore this it's up to you!!!! hahaha
Hey anon. I won't share not to spur discourse like it is usually picked up in our fandom, sadly, but I want to say, any feeling you feel is valid. I understand what you mean. Personally, I for example think Yonk's debut is a little underappreciated (like the MV and album), Guard You had really cool concept and a very badass MV. But then again, honestly, I don't have the right to complain as I (like a lot of people back then) was here and there and wasn't all that focused on streaming content. I think I still haven't watched his self-interviews from that time. I do own the album tho and listened to it a lot on repeat, I loved it more than lwn conceptually and musically tbh.
Re Yonk's actual comeback. I feel like there are several reasons contributing to this. First and the biggest is that the fandom was still relatively in slumber. Some people started only return after Piri's discharge, so there wasn't enough people to support his comeback in the first place. Second is Stuj was still experimenting with formats. Unfortunately, these little stop-documentaries, to me at least, were pretty forgettable, I don't remember what he was talking about in there. But it wasn't something that we didn't already know. One of them was about radio, I think? They're only for one bite and people are unlikely to rewatch them again.
Re asking for content and delivering it. I think music will come out anyway, so people usually are requesting something else. Afaik his vlog contents during festivals, his appearances on show etc gain pretty decent number of views. These little promo stuffs, I don't think they should be really regarded as a metric of anything. And even if you tend to compare with the current SJ solo, there was big anticipation of it, it was first teased almost 2 years ago, so it kind of expected that people rushed to see. Second is that they're big now and a big chunk of general public is intrigued by SJ's voice, so views likely come from there as well. To be honest, I think if Yonk was ever to comeback again, his solo would also gain much more traction this time.
It is okay to feel the way you feel but it is also important to evaluate your feelings and put them side to side with reason. Hope I was able to settle your sorrows, anon.
