🔍anon: regarding focus, personally I'm a "one more chapter before bed, I swear" kind of guy, so honestly if you have my attention it's harder to pause than to finish.
I've been thinking about it, and I think in fanfic it's easier to start reading. With original works it's a little more difficult to start, especially with speculative fiction, because you have to get used to the world AND the characters, so in the beginning at least its easy to pause and wander off; In fanfic, even if it's set in a buckwild AU, it's with characters we already know and care about, so it's easier to be there and go "oh my goodness, and what happens NEXT?" ASGHAJDJS this is all my own experience though, and guesswork, I can't speak for anyone else. But this is my answer to the focus question
Hey hey! It does make a lot of sense. But for me the problem is that it happens with fanfiction too. But then again might be adhd thing. Thank you for sharing your point of view!
