Not the previous Stray, but your last post is extremely disappointing. I hope you realize that people's preferences in how much they post do not by any means reflect on their personality, and that you cannot actually know people from their social media presence - or lack of it - alone. Just today I saw someone get harassed out of another project because they prefer to remain anonymous from social media. This is extremely disappointing to say the least.
Thank you for sharing your concerns, anon, but this is how we have chosen to work toward keeping all participants of this project safe and comfortable, and we will not be changing this requirement. Accountability is something that goes both ways, and for the same reasons most people would avoid a zine whose mods were entirely anonymous, we are not willing to just make assumptions as to the acceptability of anyone's online behavior. A relatively active social media account is really the only resume we can ask for, and anyone seeking a reasonable accommodation for not having a significant online presence is always welcome to DM us about it.
Additionally, contributors will not be forced to share any information publicly if they don't want to, nor will they have to have their name or accounts listed in the finished product if they prefer to remain anonymous. Nothing more than a preferred name and age range (since some people wish to not interact with individuals significantly outside their own) is even required to be shared in the project server. This information is strictly for admin use, to try and get a better idea of who we are allowing to be part of the zine.
This is the last response we will be making regarding this specific situation, thank you for your understanding.
