What does Hawthorn's speaking voice sound like?
How does Hawthorn cope with illness?
Hawthorn's immune system is aided by her inner flame, and her mostly herbivore diet provides her with plenty of boosts to it. She is druidic, and knows how to treat a common cold with rest and fluids, but when things become a little too tough, she will anonymously ask for help through her equine merchant friend, who will fetch her medicine in exchange for gems!
Are Hawthorn's eyes glow in the dark or is this just for effect?
Her eyes do glow in the dark! They also leave glow trails! This is mostly for a show of force, like a wolf baring fangs in warning.
I saw you got Covid pls get well soon!!
Thank you! Sorry for the late reply! I'm fit as a fiddle now, but still got Covid Cough and a bit of long Covid x ux;
Does Hawthorn have any animal compainons? I see her drawn with bunnies a lot so does she have bunny friends too?
Plenty! The entirety of the Wildlands is essentially her friend. She's the woodland's guardian and thereby the guardian of the critters within. She also has a direwolf mount and a fox kit that sleeps in her room.
I remember briefly that Hawthorn may have a partner, can you explain more about them if you have anything set?
Still a bit of a WIP, but Reven is a wolf from an outlying tribe of the Wildlands who were driven out by the Sauvage clan. The Sauvage Clan became reclusive, severing ties, especially after Hawthorn was born. Ironically, the Kiba Clan had a son who - akin to Hawthorn - was born resembling a Revenant. There were rumours he was a mutant, and he faced the same discrimination Hawthorn went through. One day he tired of the rumours and set out to the Wildlands to a. get a Revenant's head and b. Hawthorn's head to exonerate his name. The rest is history.
If hawthorn was nother animal what would she be?
I was actually going to make her a rabbit! But otherwise probably a cat c:
has any of hawthorns ancestors every tried to contact her? like ghosts
Normally they appear as red butterflies. Hawthorn can see and acknowledge them, but cannot hear or understand them. Hawthorn is not afraid of the paranormal, but she has never been attacked by the many spirits of the Wildlands. She seems to be protected from them.
What would her home look like? Is it like a cabin or what type of shelter would hawthorn call home?
The way I envision Hawthorn's home is very similar to a Greek Temple or the Panathenaea, which - I know - doesn't make much sense in a Black Forest setting. The reason is simple: Hawthorn's universe essentially renames Selene - the Moon Goddess in Greek Mythology - to Sarina. Long before Hawthorn's clan came to be, Hawthorn's temple used to belong to Sarina, and the forest used to be pure and holy. However as hatred and darkness grew, the forest turned darker, more malevolent, and drove the Moon Priestesses out. The temple was their last bastion, and was abandoned save for one Priestess - Sarina herself. Seeing that the wood was in need of a guardian, she created Hawthorn through deceiving her mother. Hawthorn inherited the temple as a result. It has a great, huge lake at the front of it, strategically placed mirrors for light to bounce around the rooms to naturally light the way, and Hawthorn has repurposed most of the front hall into a sort of greenhouse. The temple has red stained glass windows, a great, oaken door, and branches into three rooms: the kitchen, a spare room and her bedroom. I hope to get art of it soon!
Has Hawthorn ever had to deal with like those prickers in the forest that would stick to her fur?
Hawthorn and the forest have a sort of unspoken almost psychic alliance. The forest is sentient, the pines speak and groan to her, the wind whispers riddles to her, the vines answer her call, the earth shifts at her command. They are almost one entity, and this work together to avoid any discomfort, this includes avoiding nettles and prickles and anything that could harm the other! So...short answer is no haha
What is the flower thats on fire called? whats its story?
It's called a Pyrose! Hawthorn and her father happened upon it one day, thinking it was a leftover from a Revenant raid. However when the rose failed to extinguish even under water or wind, they decided to bring it home and watch its progress from home. The only time the rose dimmed or faltered was when hope was at an all time low. The truth is the rose is a gift from Sarina to Hawthorn to encourage her to fight, the Pyrose will burn forever as long as there is hope. It is only truly ever hopeless when the fire dies.
Does Hawthorn like to swim?
Oh she loves it! The hooves make it a wee bit difficult but she loves the river and lake near her home. She often jokes that she should have been born a hippocampus.
What is Hawthorn afraid of?
Hawthorn actually is not afraid of much. She's been through a lot of trauma, but has emerged stronger from it. I suppose her greatest fears are her temper or lack of control on her predatory nature, being forced to kill in self defense, having offspring who will be bullied for being halflings. Her more day to day fears are accidentally losing control of her pyrokinesis (since it's a woodland area) and spiders, funnily enough!
Does Hawthorn bother with actually cooking any of the meat she eats, or is it just devoured raw?
Depends on how badly she needs blood/meat in general. I'd say she's more liable to make a meal out of it and make it all proper and filling, since she does not like devouring meat and it's a rare occurrence. Kind of like a ritual! She detests her carnivorous nature, especially since the denizens of her woodlands are generally seen as prey to her, she'd dread it if they were to once again be afraid of her.
Has Hawthorne ever become aware of how beautiful she is, or has she ever gotten her fair share of admirers when they crossed paths with her?
Most if not all of her "visitors" generally regard her with fear before anything else, because she's surrounded by mystery and legend. She has also perpetuated this, because if it keeps people out of her forest it's a good thing: it's dangerous there and she's the sole being keeping the Revenants from decimating everyone. Having to protect idiotic wanderers into the Wildlands just adds more pressure. So, she acts scary and like she's gonna murder anyone who comes near, to keep both them and herself safe. Sadly this has inadvertently caused bounty hunters to lust after her both sexually and as a payday, but it is definitely agreed upon in the adventurer town outside her wall [Thornwall] that she is a beauty. There, she is referred to as "The Ruby".
