I have not sunk any significant amount of time into most Final Fantasies and for a long time I thought I just didn't like the series, but I adore XII The Zodiac Age. One of my two favourite combat systems of all time, it is a crime that we've never seen the Gambits system revisited, and I like the License Boards a ton too. I played XIII to completion for my boyfriend and while the start of the game is just as bad as people say, if not worse, it does eventually get better, and I found myself really enjoying the later chapters. I'm also a crazy person that sunk nearly two years into completing almost everything in XIV A Realm Reborn before finally reaching the Heavensward expansion very recently. It took me nearly 1000 hours and a lot of it was painful but getting to experience almost everything patch by patch, level by level, was worth it. Good game.

I've tried Final Fantasies I, IV, VIII, X and XV and most of these I've not sunk more than a couple of hours because they didn't grip me. XV got over 20 hours from me before I started realising all of the problems it has, it's one of those games where it's a lot of small things that creep up on you over time.
