Never mind how it happened, the fallout had sent Elio's hatred for Pokemon Hunters over the edge - no longer viewing them as human, but "monsters wearing human skin"; nothing short of death would be suitable for such an inhumane subspecies.

The events proceeding that day post-kidnapping (i.e. constant rough movement that would partially upset Elio's equilibrium, the various forms of torture Elio endured in the midst of said ransoming, etc.) would trigger Molesurya's evolution - increasing his heliokinetic powers to such a degree that the completely enraged and newly-evolved Sun Pokemon would burn down a good portion of New Tork City just to assure his brother's safety. It's miraculous that no one died (aside from the Pokemon Hunters involved) due to Molesurya quickly reigning in his newfound elevated power; not to mention Elio being found three days later in a nearby mountain range lying outside the city's limits, his partner taking him away in the midst of pyroclasmic carnage to properly recover from the physical trauma. However, such a disaster would not only scar Elio - ruining both one of the most important celebrations in his life and an equally important milestone for his first Pokemon that he highly valued as a fellow sibling, but would permanently be remembered as the [Fallen Black-winged Sun Disaster] by the city's denizens: moments before the disaster's occurrence, said onlookers were forever engraved with the visage of an enlarged yet beautiful pair of red-patterned black butterfly wings summoning an equally-sized crimson sun that dyed the city's skies in the same shade.
